I get the impression that some parts of the superstructure are made of composites and stuff. Steel plate won't get wrinkly and stuff.

Its 324kb. Might have to post it in the CDF due to the file size limitations on the forum software.

Ok, Ill be looking for it from there...

Once you strip down anything that is not a presumption, you get the bottom line that the CG comes from an official exhibit and it is from the lion's mouth. That makes it a valid piece of information no matter what.

It is valid information of something, But to me, its still too vague and unspesific to actually tell you anything, expecially in those fields where it has been used in this thread, eq. to show of some future chinese products. In the end it is the picture that will spesify, not the source of the picture. And My stance still remains, that it presents its details so blurry, that its purpose cannot be to show of those but to show of the ship and its general layout into whatever purpose comes to ones mind.

Interesting, the ones built in HP have black painted funnels. However, HD's 054As have just normal grey/blue paint on their funnels.

Oh, but it does. The thin steel plate warp and wrinkle from the heat generated during wielding. On the other hand, it would have been very smooth if it were indeed made from composites, as there wouldn't be any wield mark to deal with.

Tphuang, I need your help here. I'm throughly confused by the numbers of 054As now. How many are in the water, and how many are confirmed to be under construction? What are the pennant numbers of the 054As in the water? I know of 530 and 529, what are the other's?

I'm a little confused too. We know there are 4 that have been built. 2 to 3 have joined the navy. We've previously heard 570 joined SSF. We also saw what appears to be two headed to SSF. So, at that time it was guessed that two joined as 568 and 570 to SSF. Maybe a third one joined ESF as 530. I've been thinking 2 will go to ESF and another 2 will go to SSF right from the beginning, so it's not too surprising if that eventually happens.

AFAIK, only 4 054A have been built so far. But additional orders are confirmed. What is not clear is the design of the new batch. Same as 054A or modified 054A, or 054B?

Alledgedly, 5th ship will be seen next year, so not too long.

look to the rear-middle of the ship, just before the funnel (when looked from the stern to bow) in the hull there is a small hatche (beneath the boat hangar) which is open in these new pics, its most likely there.
