I don't know if it actually has any connection with the Vodapod, it does not look like an exact copy. There aren't many ways a torpedo with a rocket stage would look like. Old technology or not, its still a useful technology, i mean what can go wrong with a rocket boosted torpedo.

If you were refering to the pic, its Vodopod, not some chinese derivation of it, nor is the pic taken anywhere near china.

The missile, RPK-6 is old design, but the concept isen't. For example the same burey's 91RE1/2 are basicly the same concept, torpedo-warhead powered by ballistic rocket. The Chinese own CY-1 is basicly similar from the concept and if they were to continue to developt it, I assume it would be quite follow the same overall idea.

This concept design for a torpedo with a rocket stage has been posted on Chinese BBS's. It's called the "Black Shark".

Maybe the photograph of the RPK-7 is merely illustrative of the actual design. I.e. it will "look like" RPK-7. These concept illustrations suggest the actual Chinese torpedo may be both VLS and air launch capable.

Please remember that the author who posted those pics has a disclaimer that all these designs are his own, and he is no way connected to any defense establishment in China.

The first HP 054A is getting commissioned in South Sea Fleet with the penant 570. It is called "Huang Shan". I think the first one in HD is also getting commissioned as 530? Maybe not.

Fascinating, a WIG missile. Asrocs in general seem to be having a resurgence after the US' shift of focus away from ASW sorta killed the main Western family's development. Now both Italy (MILAS based on the OTOMAT) and South Korea deploying new types. So maybe this is China's equivalent. But why WIG???

Going back to the TAS issue on the 054A, it should be noted that it appears that a new slim and compact TAS appear to be being introduced on Chinese subs, of which it has been seen on the 094, the Yuan and the Songs as of late. Given the size of the TAS, if a similar version is being implemented on surface vessels, then its requirements for an opening would be much smaller than previous TAS designs. As a note, the 051Cs also lack a large rear opening but like the 054A, has smaller openings in the rear side that may still be big enough to hold such a new slim TAS.

My suggestion is to keep tuning in for further developments.
