Thats why we really need those clear bird perspective pics to clear out this haze of speculations...

But still i remain in my position....Just look at the picture and imagine those hatches open from centreline. It just doesen't make a sense that under each half-hatches is a missilesilo...

I now used three pics to make some comparisons. One is the model of the ship, where we clearly see 32 cells. One is the first pic where we all thought vls is at a slight angle, and last one is the new series of pics, which to everyone but Golly seems like a clear show of 32. Well...

On all three pics the ratio of width od ship measured between railings (at the level of vls) and width of VLS mount (using the same perspective, of course) is between 2.5 and 2.7. While not super precise, i would hope that proves that all pics do show what the model of the ship showed ages ago. There are, in fact, 32 squares for what seems to be 32 missiles.

You see I want to see, not belive...;)

The model had 100 mm gun mounted which is clearly an overestimation even if there is just 16 missiles so to keep it as some sort of base for the comparison is like skating on very thin ice. It's not strong enough...

What comes to the pics, its really easy to proove me wrong. Just show how one of those 16 square geometrical shape can be divaded into two equal size and shape objects which are square...it should be easy, just change few laws of the physics and there you are:p

But please show the pics and your calculations, perhaps I can found out what others are seeing and I'm alledgedly not...

the VLS on the 054A looks exactly like the MK 41...
just compare this MK41 to the VLS on the 054A and you'll see the launchers and hingles
are alike

use MS paint and play around with this MK41 fliping it to different angles and stuff, you'll see it

On the later pictures, it really looks like 32 silos for me. The angle of the pic and the use of an extreme telephoto lens has some distortion effect. It looks like a copy of the MK 41 hatch.

You will have a hard time explaining the engineering logic of this hatch arrangement. Its more complicated; it cannot seal properly, because where the opposing lids meet, and at the same time, it does not close properly since the other end cannot be in contact with the solid surface of the edge of silo to rest and be fastened upon.

I think it's quite clear from this picture
054ahpvlsjan2199di.jpg

that it's 4 squares across per row.
if you think it's two per row, then you definitely have one side that is much longer than the other.

some pictures of 054A from HD, more work done to the mask

Well you would have to be an engineer yourself to understand what other engineers thinks....to normal humans it may sometimes be bit difficoult;)

Jokes aside....My photoshoping tools are too limited to get my idea fully illustrated, but I try to do proper drawing of what I belive is presented later today when I get back to my flat...

But its obvious that with these photos we can depate the issue untill the doomsday, so lets just wait for the next round and hope then we can finally determine which one is right, Golly or rest of the world:p

My money is still on the 16 but i wont raise the bet....

I tend to believe that there are 32 missiles from this pic:

Looks like a centerline with hinges on both sides...meaning there are two hatches there, and not one split down the middile. I also agree however that we need a better picture to be sure because there are other pics, like this one:

4cki9ds.jpg

That look more like 16 missiles....but they would have to be big missiles in that case. And the hatches themselves are different. Are these two pics from the two different builds? Something strange in that if they are different, like the PLAN is doing a two full builds to test two differing VLS configs.

But going back to the first pic, which I believe is one of the clearer pics, it seems clear that there are 32 missiles.
