Well technically speaking, stopping development of all manned fighters and replacing all existing manned fighters with "drones" might be one way to save money

To be fair to him, JSF program is indeed the very symbol of old-style, feeder, too-big-to-fail type of a program.
Not a big secret that in an ideal world money could've be spent better for a much better web of tech solutions, manned or not.

indeed. even for their 6th gen program, CCAs must all be in direct line of sight of the controlling (manned?) aircraft. and if for any reason they lose communication, they are programmed to return to base.
Musk should stick to his area of expertise and not spread his bs around
He has literally be given a position by Trump in an advisory role to suggest cuts to government funding. So basically him spouting bullshit and it potentially negatively impacting people is technically his job.
