sorry if I misunderstood you ... did you consider the report unreliable because of the consequences of June 23 engine failure maybe?

It is an "opinion" brother that is all,,,, the F-35 is as certain as "death" at this point, it is being built, flown, fixed, engineered, reengineered, test flown, weapon's systems being brought on line, and avionics coming up to speed nicely! It is Raptor Light, it is an amazing airplane already, and will be more amazing as the days go by??? really, it is a toddler in development, next year in preschool, kinder garten, first grade, second grade,----are you with me,,,

so how many J-20s do you see flying??? 6 and how many T-50s?? 5 er I mean 4 oh I mean 3, uuhhhh! no I mean 4 or 5 or ??????? they are in "development", lots of flying, broken airplanes, fixed airplanes, this works---now is broken,,, ohhhhhhh huummmmm????? now I think its fixed, oh yeah it is "fixed"!

The F-35 is IN LRIP! it is moving Forward, put it in the bank and draw interest on the principle! Partners are flying their own airplanes everyday, I don't know how I could be more emphatic that it is coming up to speed!

No link but annouced first F-35 for Hill AFB arrived for Sept normaly 3 sqns on F-35 for 2019, actually only 2 F-16 sqns bl 40 then an increased.

Eielson later 2 sqns but new or other disbanded units ? i don't think concerns the F-16 Agressor sqn based there so soon for have F-35 in in this type of unit.

Lakenheath get also 2 F-35 sqns replace F-15E normaly back in the CONUS but for F-15C sqn to see.

Last delivery BF-40 for Beaufort and CF-20/21 for Eglin planned 15 C with USMC for VFA-101 mixed unit i have 11 but he must miss.

Actualy F-35 of LRIP-6, 2012 delivered first in Oct 2014.

History was achieved March 12th when the first Italian F-35A Lightning II rolled out of the Final Assembly and Check Out (FACO) facility here. This production milestone marks the first F-35A assembled internationally and the first of eight aircraft currently being assembled at Cameri. The aircraft, designated as AL-1, will now proceed to additional check-out activities before its anticipated first flight later this year.

The rollout exhibits the ongoing strong partnership between the Italian Ministry of Defense, industry partner Finmeccanica-Alenia Aermacchi, and Lockheed Martin. The Italian FACO is owned by the Italian Ministry of Defense and is operated by Alenia Aermacchi in conjunction with Lockheed Martin Aeronautics with a current workforce of more than 750 skilled personnel engaged in F-35 aircraft and wing production.

“The Cameri FACO is truly a national crown jewel, currently assembling the first eight Italian F-35As and producing wings for all F-35As fleet-wide,” said Lorraine Martin, Lockheed Martin Vice President and F-35 Program Manager. “Additionally, as the European F-35 airframe Maintenance, Repair, Overhaul and Upgrade center, it will generate thousands of long-term, high-tech jobs for the Italian people for decades. Lockheed Martin is proud of our relationship with Italy and values the highly-skilled Alenia Aermacchi workforce building this incredible jet.”

The FACO will build all Italian F-35A and F-35B aircraft, is programmed to build F-35As for the Royal Netherlands Air Force and retains the capacity to deliver to other European partners in the future. In December 2014, it was selected by the U.S. Department of Defense as the F-35 Lightning II Heavy Airframe Maintenance, Repair, Overhaul and Upgrade facility for the European region. The 101-acre facility includes 22 buildings and more than one million square feet of covered work space, housing 11 assembly stations, and five maintenance, repair, overhaul, and upgrade bays. The first full F-35A wing section was recently completed and will soon be shipped to Lockheed Martin’s Fort Worth, Texas, F-35 production line for final assembly.

USAF - 80
USMC - 41
USN --- 22
UK - 10
AUS - 2
Neth - 2
Norway - 2
Italy - 1

That's 160 aircraft...and more are coming out every month. Soon, there will be more F-35s than there were F-22s built. It will ultimately surpass that number by 15x.

The F-35 is the most tested, most analyzed, most subject to AQ aircraft in history. The US alone will build at least 2,400 aircraft and probably more. Other nations will end up building at least 600 aircraft, and probably more.

It is going to be an extraordinary, world-wide, 5th generation stealth strike fighter.

Naysayers and detractors will continue to try and take shots at it...but it will continue to excel and its numbers and performance will speak for themselves.

As ultimately will, I expect, its pricing. The roll away price has already fallen something like 55% since the initial test aircraft, and it will continue to fall.

Indeed it does, and what a Bonny Day it is, this is momentous and historic news, I am thrilled that the Italians have their war-bonnets on and producing this fabulous airplane, call it a Ferrari, or Lamborghini, or a Pinarello, or a Ducati, those gentlemen are "craftsmen" and happy to see our first production partners are the Italians! Bravissimo!

Oh, and no doubt the Red ones will be faster!

I'm not sure those numbers are précises US aircraft numbers. As far as I know at this point, the US military production plans looks like this:

LRIP 08 - 27 US Aircraft (2015)
LRIP 09 - 35 US Aircraft (2016)
LRIP 10 - 55 US Aircraft (2017)
LRIP 11 - 68 US Aircraft (2018)
FRP 01 -- 90 Aircraft (2019)

With the build dates in parens. If this schedule holds (and who knows if it will?), then the US will have a total of 435 F-35A/B/C aircraft built and delivered by the end of 2020. This is just US aircraft and does not take into consideration foreign purchases and builds.

At some point the US will be adding over 100 per year for several years to get up to the total of over 2,400 aircraft.

Yes, I would say something on the order of 450 F-35s by 2020...maybe a little less. maybe not.

And with the F-22s and B-2s, yes, the US will have something on the order of 650 5th gen stealth aircraft in that time frame.

We shall see if there are 60 T-50s and 6- J-20s in 2020. Could be...but we will just have to wait and see if they do so.

Textron Systems Electronic Systems, a Textron Inc. business, announced today that its Model 527™ Radar Signal Simulator has been selected for preflight testing of F-35 Lightning II electronic warfare (EW) systems. Under a three-year indefinite delivery, indefinite quantity contract with Lockheed Martin, the company will provide advanced, handheld radar simulators for EW preflight testing on all variants of the F-35, which is expected to be utilized by both U.S. and international customers.
The Model 527 is designed for end-of-runway and walk-around preflight testing, to determine the status of installed EW radar warning receiver systems. Both operational readiness and threat recognition are verified across antennas, transmission lines, radomes, cockpit displays and controls. Textron Systems' advanced threat modeling software allows a variety of threat simulations including simple, continuous-wave, pulsed single emitters, and multiplexed radio frequency emitters modeling several threats simultaneously. Once these have been developed within the system, personnel can progress through them easily on the flight line with a thumb switch to verify aircraft operation.
"The F-35 is one of the world's most advanced tactical aircraft, designed to deliver powerful new capabilities to the warfighter," says Senior Vice President and General Manager Steve Mensh. "Our Model 527 and larger family of preflight testers give aircrews the confidence they need in their mission-critical systems, before they even leave the ground."
Textron Systems' Model 527 is compatible with threat file sharing, along with the company's family of preflight confidence testers. This includes the Joint Service Electronic Combat Systems Tester (JSECST™), which has an installed base of more than 500 systems in numerous countries around the world, and the Advanced Architecture Phase, Amplitude and Time Simulator (A2PATS™) Laboratory Electromagnetic Environment Simulator.
