L’entreprise liégeoise concourt depuis deux ans à un appel d’offre du ministère français de la Défense en vue du remplacement du fusil FAMAS, rappelle-t-elle dans un communiqué. Selon Les Echos, c’est le HK 416 de la firme allemande Heckler & Koch qui aurait remporté le marché face à ses quatre concurrents.
«FN Herstal confirme qu’un débat sans rapport avec la qualité et avec la performance de son produit est en cours avec l’administration française. Un recours a été introduit par FN Herstal devant le juge des référés administratifs, par la voie du référé précontractuel», affirme la FN, précisant que la décision devrait être connue «au plus tard en début de semaine prochaine».
«Jusqu’à cette décision, la procédure demeure suspendue et le marché n’est pas attribué», estime l’entreprise liégeoise, propriété de la Région wallonne.
Aucun fabricant français ne figurait parmi les candidats à l’appel d’offres. Selon Les Echos, FN Herstal avait la préférence du groupe public français d’armement Nexter, car il acceptait de confier une partie de la maintenance de l’arme à l’un de ses ateliers en France.
Selon Les Echos et La Tribune, le marché est évalué entre 300 et 400 millions d’euros. Il comprend la fourniture de 90.000 armes individuelles.
