Heard from radio that Finland is putting extra money on defence according to govt sources.
They are being idiots. If you think Russia does not know what they are up to with their US weapons purchases I think they will be sorry.
The Russians already made some sarcastic comments about it. And I wouldn't be totally sure they are 100% joking.

You forgot about nukes. Nukes, boy!

Indeed, Finland should join NATO, get the at least the same level of threat directly in front of St Petersburg and then say, "Try us!". And it seems like everything's going this way.

Those stupid rhetorics won't ever stop without things like that.

Nukes? We'll that's only thing what keeps Russia revelant as their military is clearly struggling.

Russians dreams about being seen as superpower are over because thratening with nuclear weapons cements it staus as larger North-Korea.

It remains to be seen how well Finland's forestry industry will fair now that Russia is putting bar codes on their timber exports to the EU.
Every timber export is now carefully tagged and monitored. If you think every piece of timber Finland exports claiming as its own comes from their forests. Then you are a fool. Everyone in the industry knows this.

I doubt the Russians like Finland's purchase of JASSM cruise missiles with capability to hit Moscow and St. Petersburg from their own territory. And I doubt the Finns will be able to keep those missiles for long.

I doubt the Russians like Finland's purchase of 500km range cruise missiles with capability to hit Moscow and St. Petersburg from their own territory. And I doubt they will be able to keep those missiles for long.
You work in the timber and log industry?

No but I know people who work in it.

People forget the Winter War started because Stalin wanted to have a buffer so that St. Petersburg would be outside artillery range from Finland. And now the Finns get themselves air launched cruise missiles which can hit the core of Russia. Including Moscow. Reckless. The payload of the cruise missile is also large enough at 450kg that you could make a nuclear warhead for it.
