A total clusterfuck of news coming out of northeast India. Looks like the northeast India powder keg burnt all the way to Myanmar. The connection between Myanmar Ethnic Armed Organizations (EAO) and Indian separatist groups is publicized for Indian domestic political purposes. It turns out India is backing both the Myanmar junta and Myanmar EAOs.

This biased reviews explains some of the intricacies involved in the region. Although in typical Indians fashion always trying to smear China again by implying China is backing Indian separatist groups.

Bangladesh PM was right; sinister plans are afoot to create a Christian State of ‘Zo’ people in South Asia

Bangladesh Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina’s recent statement that a Western power is conspiring to create a Christian state similar to East Timor in this region ought to be taken seriously.
Hasina was not explicit about this conspiracy.

This "news" article has been making rounds lately. It is posted by the hindutva RSS mouthpiece meant to slander the Kuki people in the Manipur conflict. The Bangladesh Prime Minister meant the west wanted to carve out St.Martin islands like East Timor but the Hindu nationalists made up this fake news instead.

The Chinese media picks this up knowing the truth full well and spin it in a CIA interference in India conflict in an attempt to enhance China-India relationship?

Even though this article is mostly fake news, the US definitely plays a role in the instability in northeast India including the usual CIA tactics. I shared this news article because I think the idea of such a state is interesting. This hypothetical plan if done correctly may actually be strategically advantageous for both China and US, in a way similar to the formation of East Timor. First, this new state can't be too close to China-Myanmar Economic Corridor/Kyaukphyu Port. Second, this new state must have ok relations with China. China should give its backing behind this new state early when the opportunity emerges.

Why would China interfering in the internal affairs of a friendly neighbor by encouraging the creation of a new state, a Christian one, be a cool idea? I don't think China would want to act like a god unlike the US.

India and Myanmar are not friendly neighbours of China. Bangladesh is a friend to China, but sadly not a neighbour. Nitpicks aside, China's not doing the interfering, it's mostly the US. If such a state hypothetically gets created, why not use it to China's advantage.

Like I said East Timor model. Check out China's relationship with East Timor and Papua New Guinea.

Manipur Tapes Submitted to Commission: Did Biren Singh Authorise Use of ‘Bombs’ in the State, in Defiance of Amit Shah?

An explosive recording – which the Manipur government claims is ‘doctored’ – has now been placed before the Judicial Commission investigating the violence in the state.
  • The Manipur chief minister’s role in the ongoing ethnic violence in his state will likely come under scrutiny with allegations suggesting he supported the use of lethally destructive ammunition – (51 mm mortar bombs)– in parts of the state last year.
  • The violence has still not been brought under control after over a year of strife with no attempts at meaningful rapprochement between Meiteis and Kuki-Zos. Prime Minister Modi has not visited the state since the violence began on May 3, 2023 and did not even campaign there in the 2024 Lok Sabha elections.
  • At least 226 people, as per government data, have been killed in the ‘double engine’ state since the violence began.
New Delhi: The Commission of Inquiry set up by the Ministry of Home Affairs to inquire into the Manipur violence has been provided with an audio file – claimed to be a recording of chief minister N. Biren Singh – which, if correct, would be evidence of official complicity in the ongoing civil war that has been raging in the state since May 3, 2023.

The Wire was informed by the purported maker/s of the 48-minute recording that it was done in person at a meeting where the chief minister unmistakably indicated his partisan complicity in the ongoing violence. The sources, claiming anonymity on account of the threat to personal safety, told The Wire that this material has also been submitted to the Commission – along with an affidavit attesting to its authenticity from the person/s who made the recording at the chief minister’s official residence –and that protection and anonymity has been sought from the Commission as well.

A leaked recording of the chief minister of Manipur (basically state governor), showing how he was implicit in the ethnic cleansing of Kukis in Manipur with state sanctioned violence.

Not really a surprise in India since Modi is known as a the butcher of Gujarat, he endorsed violence against Muslims in his state which lead to over a thousand violent deaths.

Instability at India's border will eventually seep into India. This might be a 1 in a 100 year chance for India to revert to it's natural state of numerous small countries occupying the same geographical area.

Rockets fired at first Manipur CM’s house as conflict spirals

Militants in Manipur launched rocket attacks, killing one and injuring five, escalating violence amid ethnic clashes and prompting school closures.

Militants in Manipur on Friday fired rockets at two spots, including the home of the state’s first chief minister in Bishnupur district, killing one person and injuring five, in another escalation of the violence in the conflict-ridden state where clashes have spiralled over the past week amid the increasing use of sophisticated improvised weaponry.

Friday’s attack is the first known use of rockets in the state since the conflict erupted 17 months ago, said officials, just six days after drones were first weaponised.

The surging violence prompted the Manipur administration to order all education institutions across the state to remain shut on Saturday.

Northeastern View | A lethal drone attack in Manipur sparks alarm and misinformation

September began on a turbulent note in Manipur. On the first day of the month, a violent clash between Kuki-Zo armed groups and security forces erupted along the border of the Meitei-dominated Imphal West and Kuki-dominated Kangpokpi districts.
The Manipur police have alleged that Kuki-Zo volunteers used weaponised drones to drop bombs on a Meitei village in Koutruk on both Sunday and Monday. (Representative image/HT sourced photo)(HT_PRINT)

The Manipur police have alleged that Kuki-Zo volunteers used weaponised drones to drop bombs on a Meitei village in Koutruk on both Sunday and Monday, flagging it as a “significant escalation.” So far, two Meitei civilians have been killed and at least 12 wounded in the flare-up.

The Kuki Inpi, an influential representative organisation of the Kuki-Zo community, has denied these allegations. In fact, it has

that the skirmish broke out as part of a planned offensive by joint forces of the state police and Meitei armed groups against Kuki-Zo volunteers in the Kangchup region.

As casualties mount in Manipur, CM Biren meets MLAs, calls on Governor

The meeting was reportedly to communicate the pressure demanding urgent intervention by the Central government

Amidst the ongoing escalation of violence in Manipur in which at least nine people have been killed since September 1 – with foothill villages in the Valley being attacked with improvised rockets and bombs being dropped from drones – ruling MLAs of the state met on Saturday evening.

After the meeting, Chief Minister N Biren Singh went to the Raj Bhavan and met Governor Lakshman Acharya alone, reportedly to communicate the pressure demanding urgent intervention by the Central government.
On Saturday, at least five people were killed after a gunbattle erupted between two armed groups following the killing of an elderly Meitei man in Manipur’s Jiribam district.
According to sources, some suspected “Kuki militants” barged into the home of 63-year-old Y Kulachandra in Ningthem Khunou, about 5 km from Jiribam police station at the district headquarters, on Saturday morning and shot him dead. The incident allegedly occurred at 5 am, when Kulachandra was still asleep.
A subsequent gunbattle between the armed assailants and another armed group in the Nungcheppi area led to the death of four armed Kuki men and an armed Meitei man, said police.
