Well, remember the polls show DeSantis as the frontrunner only if Trump doesn't run.
But the point is that Trump (or a Trump successor) will likely win in 2024.
And they will likely tear up any agreements that Biden signs.
So who can trust any agreement that the current administration signs?

That's why China shouldn't be sitting around to wait and see. Time to deny China from the US like they're trying to do now vice versa so it starts hurting the US before the next Presidential election.
I do think Biden did want to ease tensions with China and come to sort of a ''vague truce'' so he could focus on his domestic agenda. If China was willing to buy some US debt or something. But, if this was some kind of good deal for both parties. China knows that any promises made by Biden even if it is under good faith will be reversed by a future Trump like figure. So, there was no point into giving Biden's demands. That level of trust from the Obama years is gone forever. Trumpian way of handing of China will be the norm. Biden's presidency will be merely the stopgap towards this transition.
I doubt that. Her last name is Trump and that's she's going to be running as a Republican and that's more than enough combo for her to be deemed as Hitler lite to those peeps lol

We can already see China is preparing itself for Trump policies to get even worse in 2024.
So we see technology decoupling, financial decoupling, a military buildup, etc
But if there is a peaceful environment for the next 15 years, China will continue growing.
By then, China will likely be immune to anything that the USA tries to do.

So they were pointing a gun at China's head with all these sanctions, and China was supposed to offer concessions for the "good" of the relarionship
It is called the Phase 1 Trade Agreement and Biden kept sanctioning China even though they made a deal.
China knows that the Security apparatus have formed a consensus that China is a threat and it must be contained. China cant change that unless it is ready to sign a Plaza Accord 2 agreement.
Who said that there was trust then? Are we forgetting that Obama stabbed China in the back even when China bailed out the US during the 2008 crisis? And then proceeding with the Pivot to Asia, and forming a trade bloc excluding China from that in order to contain it economically
Trumpian way was also the Obama way, just a lot more rough than the "gentleman" and behind the scenes Obama.
Biden will merely be the continuation of the Trump policies, with just a prettier paint on top.

Biden wants China to bankroll the QE, nothing more. Somehow the admin believes that China is begging to bail them out like they did back in 2008.
What political acumen has cackling Harris demonstrated? Visiting the John McCain memorial in Ho ChiMinh city? It is easy to discount Ivanka as an airhead until you realize that she is one of the few people who advised Trump, back in 2018, to reach a trade deal with China when the Chinese government was willing to make limited concessions.
