Honestly I though Europeans are supposed to be well educated and more open minded, turns out this virus has exposed more then just how deadly it is but just how many flaws that Europe will have to address in the future, assuming they ever get this crisis under control, if ever given they they have the will of a mouse.
I thought it was generally accepted, by the Europeans themselves, that the height of European civilization was the time just before World War One. Then WW I happened, and Europe was never the same again.

I think that is true. European vitality never been the same in the history books. Look at the last three decades. All talk, very little action.

Above everything, my hope is that we get back to good ol' politics where nations negotiate privately and not on twitter.

No more jock bullshit.
Why not? I liked twitter foreign policy . :(

Tweeter policy by Trump was great. He keeps boxing himself in, or made to look a fool to all other state leaders.

It was fun while it lasted. I'm sure going to miss his little finger decision making process! Lol

My father reckon its time for the likes of Pelosi to go. She's the embodiment of a champagne socialist that dates back to the Kennedy era. Listening/watching her and a bunch of other 70year olds bickering on the sidelines is sad..........a bit like a stuck record that's being going round and round for the last decade and more. Bring on fresh talent.

Well, Trump did expose the USA for what it truly is so really they have no where else to go but down. Really, does show that leadership in the west doesn't have an intelligence requirement, hence you get jokes like Scott Morison, Justin Trudeau, Boris Johnson and Emmanuel Macron who are basically good at bullshitting but very poor at making the choices that matter not to mention the absolutely have no spine at all. I do admit they are good for the entertainment factor but some times I do feel the urge to reach out for that cane since their childish stupidity is costing people lives.

I absolutely DESPISE the likes of Pelosi... But she's been keeping in check and holding back 'The Squad' and young Bernie-types from their woke progressive agenda. God help us if Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez ends up anywhere near House Leadership, she's already come out saying she's ending her 'truce' with the Democratic party.

Or back to using the megaphone which is Australia favorite in dealing with China.

We have to look 3 to 4 steps ahead.

Even if we look 2 steps ahead, after the allies band together, then what?

All bad choices.

Such as the situation Australia has with its largest trading partner. Soon to be not their largest trading partner, maybe.
Until now, the Australian strategy against China is that Australia do not depends on one market alone. So they are prioritising other markets for their trade.
But with the change of leadership at the Whitehouse, Australia fear a better trade relationship between China and US will potentially throw Australia under a high speed train. So Australia is showing signs of changing strategy now. Still too early to tell but showing a more willingness to talk diplomatically.

I am not saying China purposely spreading the virus they just didn't try too hard to stop it from spreading to the world either, why do you think in the beginning China ban all travel domestically but not for Chinese leaving the country, trump himself said it also
When trump went all out in his trade war against China things like banning semiconductor sales, arresting meng wanzhou, instigating unrest in hk, did China responds in a similar manner? They could have easily arrest elon musk (they have plenty of chance in doing so) in retaliation for meng wanzhou, they could also ban rare earth export in retaliation for semiconductor/chip ban, China didnt do such things at least not yet
Maybe just maybe they didn't want to fight the enemy where they are strong, but instead choose to strike the enemy where they are weak, just as sun tzu would have done
Look at where China is now stronger than ever more united than ever, and look at where her enemies is now disorganized, divided, confused, neck deep in pandemic and recession, you are mistaken if you think only the us is capable of covert operations
The virus spread rapidly in US was due in large part by Americans attitude. Chinese entering and leaving US were heavily scrutinized with strict biosecurity measures. But white Americans were allowed to enter without restrictions even when they informed airport authority upon arriving that they had been in contact with some one who had the virus. Some of these Americans tell their experience openly on social media.
And then you have Trump handling the "crisis". The rest is history. No need for conspiracy. Trump unintentionally make America sick.
