My question to you is, if Republicans are clearly exercising raw power to get what they want, why do Democrats need to be limited by procedural rules when it's not even the same playing field, not even the same game? It's not even a fair fight.
What you're suggesting destroys the constitutional status quo. I'm not a fan of McConnell whatsoever, but he was able to swing the SCOTUS towards a conservative majority without ripping up the the constitution. Not being able to win a game doesn't give you the right to rip up the rulebook and rewrite the rules of the game to ensure victory.

Quite frankly as conservative justices go, Amy Coney Barett sure comes across moderate and politically unscathed from scandal (more importantly qualified, experienced, and a fair judge to contribute in the judicial branch). Mainstream media just likes to drag her Catholic faith to paint her as a radical white supremistic conservative and the destroyer of LGBT ideals and womens rights.

Even if Biden wins, the fact that this election was so close with Trump's complete incompetence in the face of COVID means populism isn't going anywhere. At this point, the Republican nominee has a good chance of winning 2024 if he can mirror Trump's personality.
Hi Bob Smith,

Since the Republican control the senate, nothing will be done and they are willing to let the nation burn for personal gain. Look at what Mitch McConnell had done, prioritizing the confirmation of a Supreme court nominee instead of working a bill for an additional subsidies for family affected by covid 19. And the ironic thing is that people voted him again with a landslide victory, now he feel vindicated and will be more stubborn in his decision.

At this point, the Republican nominee has a good chance of winning 2024 if he can mirror Trump's personality.

Yup the Republican will blame the Democrats for the suffering that they made. Hope it's not TOM COTTON or Mike Pompeo.

Again, that's exactly what Republicans did by denying Merrick Garlan during an election year in 2012, while ramming through Amy Coney Barett during an election year in 2020. Republicans had raw power and exercised it at the time. They are two-face double-standard hypocrites by denying Obama's pick during election year, while ramming ACB through during Trump's election year.

Republicans already are gaming the system so it's rigged in their favor from the beginning. It's time for Democrats bring balance back to Supreme Court to correct Republicans double-standards and hypocrisy.

You snooze you lose. That's why congressional elections matter.

So you basically admit that raw power matters right?
Raw power doesn't mean screaming anarchy. You get to do what you want within the political confines of the Hill, that's what's defined America.

Trump, Pence, and McConnell were elected by the people of America (and not just Californians or New Yorkers), so they get to decide what legislation gets passed and who gets appointed to the supreme court because they played by the rules. If the Democrats want to change that, well then maybe bloody listen to the voice of the people instead of going woke pushing through the Clinton's agenda - honestly that's why they're leading by such thin margins instead of the landslide mainstream media depicted going into last night.

Or, as the supposed founding city of Western democracy put it:

The strong do what they can and the weak suffer what they must.
- Athens to the island of Melos in the Peloponnesian wars, when asked about moral justifications on why they came in a neutral island to force a surrender, kill all the men and enslave all the women.

Is there any surprise in the way western democracies behave, both domestically and on the international stage in modern times? We aren't genetically different from those that voted Socrates to death.

So the worst combination. Biden will make sure EU joins USA in China contain strategy.
Meh. Obama did that back in his second term and he ended up pushing Iran, Russia and China together. I wouldnt fuss over that if I were you.
