Clear evidence of violent Uyghur protestors directing their anger towards civilians. The people vs state rhetoric used by Western media is patently false.

It is not Anti-Chinese bias it is Anti-communist government of China bias.

Don't forget the LA riots all started with a couple of white police officers beating up an unarmed black man. I don't think you nor most of the members here would agree with that statement. For a person who professes to be so well-read about China your statement is shockingly naive.
Im aware of a tense under current in Xinjiang, caused by/
the way they can practise their religion
migration
and a feeling of being an underclass in what they see as their own country.
At this stage Im merely going on the reports of the newspapers.
Perhaps the Chinese authorities brought the whole situation upon themselves, in not been seen to be dealing with the rape complaint fairly. IMO the Chinese tendency to suppress stories, they consider to be negative results in rumors and distortions that can get out of hand.

I second Engineer's response, most of the articles are indeed anti-Chinese (especially anti "Han" chinese) instead of anti-Chinese. And you'll find even livelier discussions on the economist's article comment page than the BBC.

It's quite funny how many posters in China have resorts to discussions in english (though sometimes in Chinese, but the websites can't display the characters right) on foreign site as most forum in China are down like baidu tieba or deleting post like crazy like Tianya. Since since earlier discussions earlier on Chinese BBS where people seems to want to overthrow the government and put the word "National" in front of "Socialism with Chinese characteristics" I can understand how these sites down.

Any proof that that's really the case?

Your argument is getting more and more irrational. Are you saying the suppression of stories, its distortion, or whatever, can lead people to murderous behaviour like bludgeoning innocent bystanders to death? What kind of people would that make out to be? Answer is, of course, a murderous people.

The truth is there's just no justification for murder.
