I do hope they churn out at least 3 of this class before moving on to the next variant. The carrier scene could use some diversity

are we saying this carrier is 326m?

Nimitz + Ford are around 335

so that is 97% length of a 100,000 ton carrier

but I highly doubt the 003 is close to 100,000 tons

off course it depends on the wide and draft but still I find 325m hard to believe

My concern is the total power. If it is conventionally powered (which I believe it is), wouldn't underpowered with the current steam turbine power plant available in China for this kind of size?

Well I don't think the Kitty Hawk class was underpowered. Just way more gas guzzling than the Enterprise and Nimitz class. Also, integrated electric power (IEP) generates much more energy than traditional conventionally powered propulsions.

Based on the graphics above, the waterline length of 003 is 297m or 298m respectively. Nimitz has a waterline length of 317m. So its length is about 94% of that of Nimitz, by your metrics.

Tibet, Taiwan, Hong Kong, Korean War, Vietnam War? What thread is this?

It is intended to stress apart from naval, US also engaged in numerous land wars to show her intent of dominance. Equally apply to her allies and cronies. You should read my comments in its totality.

There seems to be a lot of rumours floating around on CJDBY that a second 003 is on the books and in fact construction may already be under way at Jiangnan Shipyard. Some say there are modules at Jiangnan that looks like they could be pieces of another 003 hull but I don't have a CJDBY account to see the photos for myself, anyone?

Here's a fresh thread on this topic just today:

I also read this piece last week that hinted at the same thing, although I don't think that's all that strong of a statement:

Within the next five years the PLAN will likely accept in excess of ten new large warships into service, including two more aircraft carriers, 3 LPDs, 3 LHAs (landing helicopter areas), and six Type 055 destroyers.
Six 055 would run against POP3's claim that 14th Five Year Plan calls for building of 8 new 055, and AFAIK also 5 additional 075 instead of 3 claimed here. So take it with a grain of salt.

That said there doesn't seem to be any visible movement on 004 aside from expansion of facilities at Dalian. So if there were plan to build two carriers ASAP (given geopolitics at the moment) than another 003 would make sense. It would also fit with PLAN tradition of building new design a pair at a time. What do we think?

IEPS doesn't magically give the ship more power than the maximum gas turbine/generator rated power, its simply a transmission method between the power and propellors
