Spotted at the Wuhan test site:

IMO not CV-18/Type 002-related. Looks more like a large LHD, but with an angled deck ??!!

Strange mockyp. If this is a carrier mockup, why does it have those buildings?

Besides that, if this is a mockup of 002, then its going to be a disapontment to some, because it seems to have the same size of 001, with the same deck format of 001. Perhabs 002 will be just 001 with catapults. Wouldnt be a surprise to me, really.

I must say i can't find anything like that on GE, around the lake where wuhan facility is. If it is near wuhan at all, it may be on a different lake. But since there's dozens of lakes out there, it's a bit of a chore to look for it.

GE imagery is dated february 2016 so it's unlikely at least a construction site wouldn''t be visible.

How about the KISS principle and just call it PLAN CV-X for now until we know more definitively.
I honestly do not think it's a LHD/LHA.

It looks like a hardened ground with the shape of a CV's flight deck. Not structure standing above ground level. I wonder what is the purpose of it.

Gentlemen I believe this could just be another house, "casino" or building in a shape of a carrier by the lake. Just by looking at the winding street where the suppose bow ski ramp there is a road leading into the "building".

Than again I could be wrong. Who knows.

Okay, I am going to move some of this to the New 002 Carrier Thread...which I will make. Let's say that that is a Z-8 Helo with its tail folded. With the tail folded it will be about 64 ft. long.

Taking that very rough calc and then extending it along the deck comes up with 17 segments times 64 feet equals 1088 ft. deck length.



Sure enough a big enough carrier.

Woah. So we're talking a big structure then. If this is real, would this supposed to be CV-002 or CV-003? (Rhetorical question, but had to be asked).

I do not know which.

I would think 002 since they are putting it into the Wuhan mockup area and would do that one first I would think.

But we are going to have to wait to see 002 being built...and supposedly it has started initial construction somewhere.
