What bothers me about the Type 003 carrier is the lack of a third elevator on the other side of the flight deck. It is essentially a enlarged Admiral Kuznetsov class carrier with catapults.

Queen Elizabeth also has two elevators. The number is largely dependant on the size of airwing.

I read somewhere the port side elevator are rarely used. If anything, they could use a 3rd on the starboard. Guess they’ll work it out if its needed on the next ship once they experience deck operations with more aircraft on the 003.

Firstly you should define the definition of “counterpart” is this case. Then you need to Identify what the “US counterpart” is.

not quite so, chimney refers to the exhaust of fumes. The whole structurse is called island. I'm also aware CVN don't need chimney for fume exgress, hence very much smaller
