Is it just me, or do the elevators seem to be slightly different in shape?

Specifically, the "inboard" edge is now sort of like an "X" instead of being a plain old square/rectangle on Liaoning and Kuznetsov

GREAT pic!

Says i all right there.

Bltizo, that little extra space, shaped as it is, allows the nose or tail of an aircraft to fit in going up or down to perhaps allow two aircraft to more easily fit.

Yeah that's what I thought it would be for.

I'm surprised the geometry of the elevator has actually been changed on 001A tbh, I thought it would be the same as on Liaoning.

They may have found that a slight change like that will increase their ability to get aircraft on deck.

They got what the got with the VAryag.

Now they have improved it and may well be able to do a retrofit if it is that important to them on the Liaoning at her mid-life.

More large for a better look, confirmed same size both as Kuznetsov ( 305 x 33,5 -72 x 10,5 m ) class ?

Is there any chance (at the moment) of checking if the elevators are “deeper”?

On the Liaoning, and of course the Kuznetsov, the nose pitot tube (?) of a J-15/Su-33 needed to be "folded down" when it is being lifted or lowered on an elevator. Any chance of a change (to the elevators' depth) for this new carrier?
