Sounds good. Seems China really puts on the effort to become a real superpower.
Pure carrier vs carrier of the old days won't happen if there's a new Sino-Japanese war come to pass, carriers and and its air wing will only be part of the total package - unless such engagement take place far from both Chinese and Japanese waters, like all the way off the coast of East Africa.I read some Japanese news that the Japanese fleet for the first time felt intimidated as it try to intercept and follow the Liaoning armada, It knows its at disadvantage for the first time.
local newspaper running at feverish pitch calling for F35B carrier capable to counter Chinese carrier.
But its only ordering F35A and only 40 of the them. Regardless if they plan for limited F35B,It will look weak against China planned 6 carriers,
GEAT Pic. Been waiting a good while to see a decent ASW helo for the PLAN with range and armament. Now this is one heck of ASW helicopter the only problem is too big at 14ton.It won't fit most of Chinese ship except Liaoning and type 55.It has big 360 deg radar on the bottom of heli, sonobuoy,FLIR, Dipping sonar, ECM, Data Link but no MAD, 900 km range,2 torpedoes.
Never until now we had seen the helicopter Z-18F armed, and it's done now. I

Not with that short rack for sure, and you know payload. Next would be how much tradeoff this'd have on the Z-18F in the endurance department, assuming the Chinese ASW package is bulkier and heavier than their Western counterpart that is.I wonder if she can carry four, like AW-101 Merlin:
Bring an extra destroyer or two to carry the extra load of Z-18F. The aircraft carrier doesn't have to carry all of the CVG major helicopter units. Not with that short rack for sure, and you know payload.
