The pilot used the English word "LSO" during the interview. Is the rumour true that PLAN hired some retired US Navy officials? :)

What is the rule for US military personnel to provide service to potential competitors or rivals? I would imagine the penalty would be serious?

I have no doubt the PLAN is using the USN as a model for its own CV. I just don't know how many USN personnel would risk the penalty to do it.

As Popeyes has said, there are many video clips on the web about how the USN conducts ops on CVs. The PLAN might have watched those videos extensively. And some PLAN personnel might have also gone to Brazil to get some training. And they most likely used English to communicate with their Brazilian colleagues. So it's natural for them to keep some English terminology simply for convenience. These pilots most likely all have advanced degrees in math, physics and engineering. It won't be difficult for them to communicate in English. If some of hem have spent extensive time abroad to train with foreign Navies, they should have kept some English terminology just of out of habit.

In the civilian sector it is now widespread to go to China as a development engineer or manager. Why should not that apply to former military personnel?

I am convinced that people who have been entrusted with aircraft carrier technology have received offers to move to China. And one or the other from Russia, Ukraine or the United States will have accepted the offer.

Civilian manager or engineer is one thing But ex Navy personnel is different cattle all together.
Don't they have to sign secrecy clause when they sign in to the navy services. I imagine it will still be in force after they leave the services. I am with Vesicle I highly doubt any ex navy personnel will endanger their pension by teaching the Chinese navy. Ex Soviet or Brazilian, Ukrainian navy is different matter
On different subject I was wondering what is the maximum jet that Liaoning can carry we see 13 on deck with no room to spare in the aft or port section of AC. But at the bow there is still 4 or 5 more room for J 15. With 4 position right after the blast deflector and 1 position next to elevator Any taker?
Another question How long it will take them to clear the J15 from the deck say 15 jet assuming it will take 10 minute to position and clear tow truck for each jet. It still a long time. that is probably the reason they need 001A ASAP. forget about J 14 in storage take too long to get it ready for launch

I know such clauses in business. And there they are limited to two, five or ten years for example depending on the position in the company.

The Chinese will compensate for possible retirement payments. This should not be a problem. The question is whether one can come back to see his family again, if one serves the Chinese.

I have a small story, nine pictures in five posts:

Incoming aircraft taxi on their own power nose in to their parking positions. In the video we can see number one, two and three already on blocks:
