Anyone has an idea of how long the Liaoning refits will take? Is the radar going to be replaced, since they are changing the island so much?

No idea on the time frame for refit, but looking at the picture below does suggest the Liaoning will likely have the same system as the 2nd carrier.

Seems as if the Liaoning does not only get a new deck-coating and some changes on the bridge, but also a new placement of its number.

It adds another visual identification now also on the island and even more all modern Navies - most of all the USN - have this too.

Yep....perhaps the PLAN is mirroring the now museum ship USS Lexington (CV 16) in Corpus Christi TX
which was once the USN training carrier?!
