Now I'm not trying to prove you wrong Jeff, but does this photo here counts? I just randomly found it online. I'm not sure if it's even real, but it does show the Kuznetsov have quite a number of air crafts (both fix wing and helicopters) on board.o_O

Yes...but that one (and shots from different angles) show the most aircraft on deck I have seen...eleven. The Chinese have already exceeded that. The are operating four helos in that picture.

Anyhow, in terms of deployments and at sea training, there is no comparison. As I said, the Chinese have done more in four years than the Russians have done in twenty.

Reminds me of that line from the Dirty Dozen where Donald Sutherland's character said very pretty, but can they fight? Russia and India have carrier combat experience, especially India, and PRC doesn't. No question PLAN CV operation has the parade ground part down pat, but until they're tested in combat, it's still an unknown.

hahahaha we can always count on you to throw in the wet blanket comment but it's a good juicy bait by dragging India into the conversation!

What part of what I said isn't true? When events and facts change, so will my views of PLAN deck aviation as great-looking, but yet to be proven force. I'm not against a powerful Chinese navy.

nothing of what you said is untrue... but neither is what I said in response :)

Even at her prime she looked haggardly. The 'modern' Russian Navy is truly a tiny shadow of the mighty Soviet Navy of the 80s.
As we speak the Russians will effectively have ZERO carrier/s for the next few years.

I always liked the Russian Battleship Grey colour, but the photograph certainly doesn't do her navy any justice.

Taiwan has neither a carrier for a parade or combat experience. o_O Unlike Russia and India today, China can build their own aircraft carrier with CATOBAR system with either steam or emal. The only other country that can do that is the US.
