Liaoning and two 052D DDG escorts have transited through a narrow strait located between the Yonaguni and Iriomote Islands while entering the WestPac, which is considered as contiguous zone (i.e. right adjacent to the territorial waters).
One 055 DDG, another 052D DDG and one 901 AOE are expected to join the Liaoning flotilla soon.
All of China's carriers are currently at sea:

The Shandong night flight qualifications? That ship has been commissioned for almost five years and they are only NOW starting to qualify for night time operations.
No, the carrier itself had night flights years ago. This is just the current batch of pilots for the PLAN they are qualifying.
Similarly, the Liaoning will supposedly be qualifying pilots for night flights in the Bohai Sea this week.
