Yeah because of its size. 003 and follow-ons will be more spacious with J-35s, smaller aircraft, and will accommodate more birds.

The era where having more of anything positive for the war effort is certainly much better than the opposite. More guns, more planes, more bombs, more torpedoes, more men - the better.

Personally, I like the idea as well - quantity is a quality of its own. But at today's age, having mere quantity can never be enough - it has to be complimented with excellent quality as well. Quantity alone could only ever serve as a desperate backup.

But that's just my personal observation.
The big difference is in WW2, half of these would not return after their mission...
