London Put in Emergency Lockdown as U.K. Fights New Strain

Prime Minister Boris Johnson imposed a full lockdown on London and large parts of southeast England and told the public across the country to avoid travel, in a desperate attempt to stop a new strain of coronavirus that is spreading rapidly in the U.K.

Unsurprising, it was inevitable when the released the 'lockdown' in time for Christmas shopping. This virus's long term effects will cripple us economically for years to come I think. The idea that the outdoors is not safe is becoming the norm. We were never really out of the woods to begin with in the UK and I wouldn't be surprised if a later newer strain proves more resistant against the current roll out of vaccines.

Plus, the Chinese vaccines are so much cheaper and a lot of developing countries have bought them. That means the population getting the Chinese vaccines will be so much larger. Thats why you need to let people know NOW that these “horrible” effects are normal. It’s happening to Pfizer, Moderna and Chinese ones the same way. Complaining about the side effects of Pfizer and others now is like digging yourself a hole...

honestly, I don't know how people trust the Pfizer vaccine... Its been rolled out less than a week and we are already hearing tens of cases of severe adverse reactions. If you consider the ramp up of logistics and distribution, its probably only been injected to 100,000 people so far. They had 30,000 trial volunteers in Phase III and we didn't hear of a single adverse reaction and now we have all these popping up even though the number injected is only 3-4x the number in the trials.

What a load of bullshit.

They are making the same type of mistake as the Boeing 737Max fiasco, where FDA and CDC are just accepting Pfizer's press release at face-value. In addition, they are under a load of political pressure to operate at warp-speed from administration's appointee.
