If I were equally a lunatic ultranationalist, I'd say that PRC managed to pass both Cultural Revolution and Great Leap Forward without even changing the ruling party.
You don't have to use N95 if you can maintain a good distance with others. Surgical mask is enough. Use it for few hours, then throw it.
I actually tell people who say: "CCP legitimacy rests with non-stop continuous growth. If grow stops, regime will collapse" by citing the Cultural Revolution and Great Leap Forward where GDP collapsed like 30% and CCP still survived. Hahaha.
I use KN95 masks from companies such as BYD and Powercom. It usually costs around $1.5 to $2.0 per mask. I wear them when going to supermarket but would only wear regular surgical mask when I am out for a walk. Back in March, I have a few boxes of N95 that I got for allergy season that last me and my family for a few months.
I got this mask right at the start of news reports something strange was happening in China. I actually had traveled up to Roturua for a wedding (mid Feburary) when the news broke and people were panic buying toilet paper and the pharmacist said there were no masks available and wasnt expecting any new stock in soon. So i went on Ali Pay and bought several types of masks. The N95 arrived within 3weeks. a packet of 50 surgical masks of the type you referred to arrived a month after that. The postage was $10 dollars A larger order of surgical masks did not arrive until August. By that time there were plenty available. I ordered a box of 50 for about twice the price I paid for at Ali Express from a supplier about 400kms away and had to pay $60 postage/rural delivery.. The delivery fee was $50 dearer than a parcel sent from China.......... how does one work that out? From now on, Ali Express is my go-to place first when Im shopping for something online.
We do have heeps of agricultural masks on the farm. I even have a full facial face mask for hand the application of Chloropicrin which is some nasty stuff. In fact it has some tear gas like properties.
