We can all play a part to help make a bad situation better: by practising good personal hygiene, being socially responsible, taking in stride the inconvenience of unexpected disruptions, or expressing appreciation to medical staff or cleaners.

The government is working hard to protect us all from the virus as much as possible. But we cannot do it alone.

I merely asked if anyone had any news on Xi lately, then someone replied in a seemingly dumbfounded manner rhetorically asking which Xi or what I meant or something else to that effect and so I clarified with reasoning for my concern for asking etc, hardly is that the same percieved categorical offense of accusing the CIA of commiting biowarfare against the Chinese people, I should instead ask what is wrong with you that you cant tell the difference or see the context.

When the WTC was attacked on Sept 11, 2001, President Bush immediately got on Air Force One and took to the air. It's not about the POTUS was scared. It's about the safety of the commander-in-chief and his full ability to lead the country in time of a major crisis. Therefore, the correct question at this moment should be: has China implemented appropriate procedures to protect their leader so that he can effectively lead his country through this major crisis? Unnecessarily exposing your leader to danger and compromising his ability to lead would be the most unwise, i.e stupid.

I'm a little confused... What kind of physical confrontation are you referring to? A riot? People are paranoid about the virus now. You think a whole bunch of people, tens of thousands at the very least, would want to get very close together and start a riot, shouting, yelling, coughing and sneezing at each other at this moment??

Also, what do you mean by "it's now or never"? The US is planning an invasion of China? Now or never? Or your brother thinks Xi should appear in front of the public now or never? The PM of China is at ground zero, taking care of things as we speak.

The first batch of 1 million pieces surgical gloves will reach Wuhan Airport around 9PM tonight. Malaysia pledged to donate total of 18 million pcs of medical gloves for use to combat coronavirus in China.

KUALA LUMPUR, Feb 3 — The next batch of one million medical gloves is scheduled to be sent to Wuhan, China on board MASkargo this Wednesday, Primary Industries Minister Teresa Kok said.

This followed the first batch of one million gloves dispatched to Wuhan aboard AirAsia flight commissioned by the government to bring back Malaysians from the 2019 novel coronavirus-hit city today.

“This is the first batch of medical gloves to be sent after my announcement on the donation of 18 million medical gloves to China last week,” she said in a statement today.

The one million pieces of latex examination gloves would be received by the Hubei Charity Federation, a Chinese government-designated donation recipient, that would distribute the medical glove supply to healthcare facilities in Wuhan.

The gloves, packed in specially designed boxes by Supermax Glove Manufacturing Sdn Bhd, are being transported via a special flight that would bring back 141 people, comprising 116 Malaysians and 25 non-citizens who are their spouses and children.

Deputy Prime Minister Datuk Seri Dr Wan Azizah Wan Ismail had earlier said that only those who have been certified healthy after undergoing an exit screening by the local authorities at the Wuhan Tianhe International Airport would be brought back.

Kok said the government is aware of the need for fast response and with the coordination with the Embassy of the People’s Republic of China in Malaysia, the National Disaster Management Agency, Malaysian Rubber Export Promotion Council, and Malaysian Rubber Glove Manufacturers Association have managed to send aid with utmost urgency.

Guys, see above is a new article published on the website of Science, arguably THE most authoritative scientific journal in the world. Two main points that may be relevant to our current discussion on the potential conspiracy theories:

1. The Chinese scientists openly shared the whole genome of the 2019-nCov.
2. Experts around the world carefully mined the sequence and knocked down the idea that the pathogen came from a lab.

The second half of the article specifically discussed the possibility of an accidental release from a lab. Peter Daszak, an ecologist working closely with Chinese scientists said that they found >500 novel coronaviruses on over 1,2000 Chinese bats and other species that they've collected in the wild. And 50 of these coronaviruses are very similar to SARS and the current 2019-nCoV. There is no evidence that the current 2019-nCoV is man-made.

Also, according to Peter Daszak, it seems that people begin to suspect some kind of conspiracy every time there is an outbreak like this. So this is more like human nature to be suspicious. Therefore, we should also stop suspecting that some other countries are actively trying to frame China.
