“在主动筛查的基础上，及时发现COVID-19病例，是确保在广州的非洲人民生命健康安全的重要措施。”广州市卫健委主任唐小平表示。

广州市公安局副局长陈永球表示，在近期的防疫工作中，广州市对非洲籍人士的隔离和核酸检测措施完全沿用了此前对中国公民和外籍人士的统一措施，“我们对隔离期间的非洲籍人士提供了同样的指定酒店和工作人员，没有任何的种族或民族歧视。”

根据广州市卫健委提供的数据，截至4月12日周日，广州共报告新冠肺炎境外输入型确诊病例119例，其中外国人25人，19名来自非洲，中国人94人。

If anything, the John Hopkins numbers are more accurate than the CDC numbers.

Supercat's observation was correct. I too was following the Johns Hopkins numbers around the same time and the total confirmed cases suddenly jumped to 60K something and after 30 minutes, it moved back to the 50K range.

It doesn't have to be a bad sign. May also mean that they cross-check their numbers and correct them if errors are found.

Like mentioned before, they’re essentially like illegals in the US due to visa problems and too afraid to go to the hospital for fear of deportation.

See Article I posted where it says out of 111 confirmed cases, 19 were imported. Problem was some of the imported cases broke quarantine and allowed community spread infection, which if left unchecked can cause a second wave.
