Can you post a link to the Japanese case who was infected in Hawaii, prior to Wuhan?

I don't have the link but it is article from New York time August 2019 Here it is
I just listening to congressional hearing and one of panel ask the doctor if it possible that the victim of socalled influenza might be misdiagnosed and could be the result of contracting Corona Virus and He said that was the case in several exhumed body. See the bottom there are list of reference

It would be useful to read this prior article for background:

As readers will recall from the earlier article (above), Japanese and Taiwanese epidemiologists and pharmacologists have determined that the new coronavirus almost certainly originated in the US since that country is the only one known to have all five types – from which all others must have descended. Wuhan in China has only one of those types, rendering it in analogy as a kind of “branch” which cannot exist by itself but must have grown from a “tree”.

The Taiwanese physician noted that in August of 2019 the US had a flurry of lung pneumonias or similar, which the Americans blamed on ‘vaping’ from e-cigarettes, but which, according to the scientist, the symptoms and conditions could not be explained by e-cigarettes. He said he wrote to the US officials telling them he suspected those deaths were likely due to the coronavirus. He claims his warnings were ignored.

Immediately prior to that, the CDC totally shut down the US Military’s main bio-lab at Fort Detrick, Maryland, due to an absence of safeguards against pathogen leakages, issuing a complete “cease and desist” order to the military. It was immediately after this event that the ‘e-cigarette’ epidemic arose.

We also had the Japanese citizens infected in September of 2019, in Hawaii, people who had never been to China, these infections occurring on US soil long before the outbreak in Wuhan but only shortly after the locking down of Fort Detrick.

Then, on Chinese social media, another article appeared, aware of the above but presenting further details. It stated in part that five “foreign” athletes or other personnel visiting Wuhan for the World Military Games (October 18-27, 2019) were hospitalised in Wuhan for an undetermined infection

The article explains more clearly that the Wuhan version of the virus could have come only from the US because it is what they call a “branch” which could not have been created first because it would have no ‘seed’. It would have to have been a new variety spun off the original ‘trunk’, and that trunk exists only in the US. (1)

There has been much public speculation that the coronavirus had been deliberately transmitted to China but, according to the Chinese article, a less sinister alternative is possible.

If some members of the US team at the World Military Games (18-27 October) had become infected by the virus from an accidental outbreak at Fort Detrick it is possible that, with a long initial incubation period, their symptoms might have been minor, and those individuals could easily have ‘toured’ the city of Wuhan during their stay, infecting potentially thousands of local residents in various locations, many of whom would later travel to the seafood market from which the virus would spread like wildfire (as it did).

Meanwhile. NYC now in state of emergency. No way to tell the degree of epidemic here.

Yet mass transit are still running and schools remain open. Stupid excuse given for keeping schools open is that some students are on reduced meal plans and might go hungry if they close schools, displaying a total lack of priorities on the part of city officials. People are also swarming super markets now, and a lot of food products like rice have sold out. Can only imagine the spike in cases that these crowds will cause. My advice brother is to leave the city while you still can and hunker down somewhere in the suburbs! Even Westchester will be safer, just avoid New Rochelle!

Time will tell. Schools may yet be closed. Why risk aggravating the epidemic for over access to school meal.

Fortunately I am fairly well stock with essentials and do not have to rush to supermarket. Just a few short trip for fresh products.

A big concern for me are all those without health insurance and have no access to health care. How can they be identified. Yet they share public space with me and advised not to wear mask. Stupid as it gets.

Did not the WH just ordered that all communication relating to COVID-19 be censored by WH? Confused.

I would hope in a week's time that schools will be shut down, and public transit at least restricted or reduced.

Unfortunately, when there is a scarcity in masks, their effectiveness must be maximized and reserved for medical workers. Of course, everyone wearing a mask will reduce transmission significantly, but the amount of masks needed would be several orders of magnitude greater. However, I wonder if people wearing those washable cloth masks can reduce transmission. While those masks may be ineffective at protecting the wearer, they may be effective at preventing transmission by the wearer.

Major
On Mar. 12, there are only 8 new cases and 7 deaths in China, excluding Hong Kong, Macau, and Taiwan (table 1). There are 5 new cases and 6 deaths in Hubei province (table 2). There are 3 cases and 1 death in the rest of China, excluding Hong Kong, Macau, and Taiwan (table 3). All 3 cases outside Hubei were imported from overseas.

True to an extent. Yet we have an administration putting 25-50% tariff on mask coming from China where 97% of supplies are coming from. How is that keeping people's health first?

Anyway stay safe. It's going to be a long journey.

Also washable cloth mask or hankerchief should help. I will feel a lot better if people do that. But CDC advises against it so what do I know

I’m a little more optimistic than you. anything can change, but maximizing interests and profits will be the only constant thing in this planet.

People still want to make as much money as they can. Unlike other natural disasters that destroy factories, roads, etc, everything including all the machinery, most of the workers and transportation networks will stay intact once this is all over. Taking them all apart for another future attack that no one knows when or if happens again will be too costly. Instead of spending billions to rebuild things destroyed by a flood or an earthquake, it costs nothing to go back the way they were after the COVID-19. So why wasting so much to change things.

Keep in mind that most of the governments are controlled by big corporations whose number one goal is to make as much money as they can.

As to ordinary people, we tend to forget things quickly. There is an old Chinese saying: you forget about the pain once the would heals. It talks about how people tend to quickly forget the ordeals they go through and go back to the way they are before.

A few months from now, we will go back the way we were. I have confidence.
Yeah I feel this will be forgotten when it finally over like SARS and Swine flu. I mean not totally erased but just a distant memory. Definitely not like now when it's all on TV and newspapers and on everyone's mind.

The tariffs on masks from China were dumped last week already. Based on news from Weibo I read
