I agree. It will bounce back sometime. But there will be more restrictions and precautions when traveling and gathering in large groups. Just like 9/11 changed air travel rules, 20 years ago. Think about the summer, few countries don't have music concerts, open beaches and outdoor camps.
Also, yes, i feel that countries will focus more on them than on a regional or global scale. Time will tell.

Talking about double standard Here the CGTN show it clearly. As I said the right and the left in western country are the same they just use every possible mishap to skewer China left and right They must realy hate China the left maybe because China does not follow their prescription of democrazy nirvana And the right for hubris, insecurity and racism Either way they are the same
When China locked down Wuhan, The New York Times said it came at a great cost to "people's livelihoods and personal liberties." In contrast, Italy's lockdown was described as an effort to "contain Europe's worst coronavirus outbreak." How will double standards hamper the global fight against coronavirus?

It's just the good cop, bad cop routine. They're both working on the same goal. The tactic is after being exposed to the bad cop that abuses you, people are quickly willing to be open to the good cop when it's really just a trick to get the same thing the bad cop wants.

I called Gordon Chang a fucking hanjian lying piece of shit once during a Trump rally. As I was booed by the massive hordes of white trash boomers and redneck mouthbreathers, Chang walked over to me. He didn't seem angry or scared at all. There was a certain calm about him. After we came face to face, he leaned close to me and whispered into my ears whilst I felt his hot yet gentle breath on my ear skin:

"The East is Red, Comrade... Without the Communist Party, there would be no new China. Long live our Chinese Motherland."

I was fucking perplexed. I just stood there like I saw a ghost, and just like that, Gordon Chang put a hand on my shoulder and gave me a sly wink, before making it back to the podium through a sea of ecstatic and cheering overweight mouthbreathers, who thought that their house chink had "epicly pwned" yet another "chicom". Back on the podium, he was making the victory sign with Donald Trump in front of a wild crowd, shouting "TRUMP 2020!!!". After I snapped back into reality, I couldn't help but notice that I was standing there with an absolute raging boner amidst a shouting sea of ignorance and heart disease, after realizing what he has been doing all along for like how long now? 20 fucking years? The Motherland absolutely salutes you, Comrade Chang!

Someone returned to Shanghai from New York tested positive for COVID-19

Yesterday (or the day before?) there was another imported case from the U.S. in Beijing. The situation here in the U.S. really is bad if the U.S. is already sending cases to China despite the greatly reduced #flights.

This pandemic will change fundamentally the word.

Level of international trade will shrink, most likely dramatically, with the movement of people as well.

The manufacturing of drugs and machines will be strategical industry, with possibly many other.

I’m a little more optimistic than you. anything can change, but maximizing interests and profits will be the only constant thing in this planet.

People still want to make as much money as they can. Unlike other natural disasters that destroy factories, roads, etc, everything including all the machinery, most of the workers and transportation networks will stay intact once this is all over. Taking them all apart for another future attack that no one knows when or if happens again will be too costly. Instead of spending billions to rebuild things destroyed by a flood or an earthquake, it costs nothing to go back the way they were after the COVID-19. So why wasting so much to change things.

Keep in mind that most of the governments are controlled by big corporations whose number one goal is to make as much money as they can.

As to ordinary people, we tend to forget things quickly. There is an old Chinese saying: you forget about the pain once the would heals. It talks about how people tend to quickly forget the ordeals they go through and go back to the way they are before.

A few months from now, we will go back the way we were. I have confidence.

The only hope right now is summer temperature -- if the hypothesis that higher temperature can reduce infection rate is actually true.

Meanwhile. NYC now in state of emergency. No way to tell the degree of epidemic here.

The bias and racism in western MSM is telling. American free democratic racism at its best.

Beijing municipal government is contacting all resident households with family members living aboard to suggest that the best way to minimize exposure is to stay where they are and that returning to China at this time is strongly discouraged.
