I think there were trials on the Pfizer vaccine. Here is one

Of course there were trials. FDA needs to maintain a veneer of professionalism.
If you read the following paragraph, they only test subjects with symptoms.

”Findings from studies conducted in the United States and Germany among healthy men and women showed that two 30-μg doses of BNT162b2 elicited high SARS-CoV-2 neutralizing antibody titers and robust antigen-specific CD8+ and Th1-type CD4+ T-cell responses.”

Confirmed Covid-19 was defined according to the Food and Drug Administration (FDA) criteria as the presence of at least one of the following symptoms: fever, new or increased cough, new or increased shortness of breath, chills, new or increased muscle pain, new loss of taste or smell, sore throat, diarrhea, or vomiting, combined with a respiratory specimen obtained during the symptomatic period or within 4 days before or after it that was positive for SARS-CoV-2 by nucleic acid amplification–based testing, either at the central laboratory or at a local testing facility (using a protocol-defined acceptable test).

I don't know how all those vaccines like Pfizer, Moderna, and Sinovac were tested in countries like Mexico, Chile, Indonesia, the UK, etc.

The trials were conducted in very different settings/conditions/time periods (therefore, different virus variants).

The best trials of the vaccines are really in real-life conditions.

You look at the current pandemic situations in Asian countries that are mostly vaccinated with mRNA vaccines and those (mainly in South East Asia) mostly with inactivated vaccines like Cambodia, Indonesia, and the Philippines, Malaysia (actually about 50%).

The most recent I heard is that South Korea and Taiwan were doing much worse than these countries. Just last week I did a bit of maths and found out that the infection rate (at that time) in South Korea was 10 times that of Malaysia.

Edit:

Just checked Hopkins site.

Taiwan 28 days rate: 1201002
Vietnam 28 days rate: 39952

And that with Vietnam's population much larger than Taiwan.

Vietnam started off with mostly Sinovac and later a mix of other vaccines.

Assuming a 4 to 1 population, the infection rate is actually 120 times! This is mind-boggling.

I've been saying Vaccine War, Vaccine War since late 2020.

Imagine a world where COVID-19 happened, but China was not yet technologically advanced enough to create her own vaccine. In such a world the only way for majority of Chinese people to get partial immunity would be to either lie flat in terms of pandemic policy and just let it rip and accept 4 million plus dead Chinese, or buy foreign vaccine.

US being the way it is wanting to crush China, how much do you think they will change China then per vaccine shot?

Fortunately China is advanced enough to create COVID-19 vaccine. But even so a lesser nightmare scenario could still have happened if nobody recognized Chinese vaccines. Chinese people could get vaccinated with domestic vaccine but you can forget about going overseas.

This scenario also didn't happen because China won the Vaccine War, and she won because:
  1. China was able to come up with vaccine as quickly (if not slightly quicker) than US/Uk/Russia thanks to having the scientific foundation as well as hard work by vaccine researchers
  2. China had enough weight internationally to entice several countries to join the Chinese vaccine trials when there weren't enough active cases domestically for phase 3 trial
  3. China had the capacity to produce industrial quantity of the domestic vaccine, much more so than US and so could afford to gift/sell these vaccines to any countries interested
Enough of the world wide population were vaccinated with Chinese vaccine that WHO had no choice but to accept the Chinese vaccines as globally accepted regardless of any western pressure, which then lead them to be accepted everywhere including Five Eyes.

The above didn't happen per natural, it involved a lot of blood sweat and tears and had China not work hard to win the Vaccine War China could well be in the same situation as Russia and her Sputnik V vaccine today.

So you see why there's endless double standards towards Chinese vaccines vs Pfizer and the like. The west lost the battle to encircle China in the Vaccine War and they are still butt hurt about it.

Bro I always be reminded the change of attitude of most people here regarding the Chinese vaccine, they believed the propaganda as the reluctancy early on regarding Sinovac, now people are demanding to be inoculated for their booster shots BUT they have to pay cause the supply is limited and the gov't is trying to offload a lot of Western Medicine stock nearing expiration.

If only 60% of your population gets vaccinated, your total deaths will still be higher a country with 95% vaccination rate, even if the vaccine has slighly higher efficacy. So Americans are stupid to talk about superiority of vaccines, your deaths going to be higher anyways, because your population is ignorant or uneducated.

But China does in fact not even have an especially high vaccine rate. So it really just mostly boils down to vaccine efficiency. Of course, the best US vaccines shouldn't be that far behind as I think even China has recognised 1 or 2 of them, but US also had people using more dubious shit like the AZ vaccine...
