What's with the furore in the West over China separating COVID-positive children from their parents? What are your views?
The playbook gets recycled as there’s really not much to add in their propaganda.

draconian measures, bad quarantine conditions, killing hamsters, covid positive kids separated in quarantine etc

all have been exaggerated and twisted but it caters to the western audience who read shit like the daily Mail. nothing gets mentioned of course about the countless Chinese lives saved from their covid policy. Or the direct comparison to western covid policy which is just gradually giving up.

btw now covid negative parents can stay with their kids in quarantine.

What the fuck, the west peddling this crap even today? The western disinformation campaign on China is such a juggernaut that people can view the dead numbers in the west and still believe China is oppressing their citizens.

I can see why Russia can get so easily cancelled nowadays, when it's China's turn, the same thing will happen but multiplied 10x

as reported by the Sydney Morning Herald, three of the eight security lanes in Terminal Two were shut on Friday. Perhaps that triggered some of the delays then Alan?

Joyce said that airports were missing workers because of COVID.

Lol, that's just a bullshit excuse.

They laid off people and now they have a problem hiring new ones because unemployment has dropped and people are not eager to return to the industry where they were often treated like garbage.

In addition, there are a large number of people who are sick.

Eh, British management school. Short-sightedness, lack of planning, and forecasting skills are just a few of the problems here. As long as everything is cost-effective and there is no "resilience" in the system.

@crash8pilot is a pilot, maybe he can add something to the topic.

P.s Lol, how is the travel industry doing with permanent lockdowns? In Poland, everything is open, no rag on faces, and we have enough crews. Tourism is doing very well in the cities.

Just like a few members and I have said, Shanghai uses a different standard.

In Jilin province in China's northeast, site of another major outbreak, asymptomatic cases have accounted for less than half of reported infections, though the figure has been increasing steadily to around 60% in recent days.

But according to Reuters calculations, if Jilin's mildly symptomatic cases are added to the asymptomatic tally, the share would rise to more than 96% - similar to Shanghai's asymptomatic numbers.
What's going on here? Any idea

People finding and clipping some really bad moments.

Has there been problems in Shanghai's handling of covid? Yes both before and during lockdown.

Has some people gone to the length of suicide? Most likely yes (should not be a wide scale thing, but even in regular times some people will die due to suicide, and it's very much possible for the lockdowns to have been something like the straw that breaks a camels back.)

I work(ed) for the aforementioned airline, not going to give y'all the juicy details... but yea it's a cluster-you-know-what right now trying to crew aircraft while the departure halls at Heathrow and Gatwick are filled to the brim over Easter school break leading up to the summer holidays

This is just a collection of video clippings with obvious intention to spread disinformation. Most likely these scenes are from various part in China and not likely from current Shanghai lockdown situation. Who would be able to stand outside and able to capture video of someone jumping from high-rise buildings.

In a city of 25 million or more, there are always crazy things happening everyday with or without covid. This kind of feel good videos from tiktok is aimed at certain demographic of people especially in the West, Taiwan, and Japan that felt insecurity due to the rise of China. Although, the stress of lock down does tend to exacerbate some problems such as suicide.
