Maybe I’m already brainwashed by western media normalising covid , but it’s not as bad as I thought. Shanghai with 21000 cases.

I mean NSW alone has 20000 cases today and the real figure is definitely much higher. Nsw has a much smaller population and much bigger land area in comparison too,
Stats in China is more close to reality due to mass testing, the numbers in NSW might be only a small fraction of the real cases, most cases are not tested and thus not included.

Just like a few members and I have said, Shanghai uses a different standard.

In Jilin province in China's northeast, site of another major outbreak, asymptomatic cases have accounted for less than half of reported infections, though the figure has been increasing steadily to around 60% in recent days.

But according to Reuters calculations, if Jilin's mildly symptomatic cases are added to the asymptomatic tally, the share would rise to more than 96% - similar to Shanghai's asymptomatic numbers.

A team supporting epidemic fight commutes between two cities in northeast Jilin

CHANGCHUN, April 9 (Xinhua) -- Some 5,000 staff from Meihekou City who are aiding Changchun, one of the hardest-hit by the province's latest COVID-19 resurgence, commute between the two cities every day in order to lessen boarding and lodging burdens on Changchun.

The supportive team, including medics, government officials and police officers, start off early morning and get back in late night by taking ferry buses. To ensure the transportation, Meihekou City uses all the available buses for the mission.
