The problem with "zero covid" policy is that, the other countries are not implementing the same policy. So it looks like China will not be able to open up its border, as that will import many new variant cases. In the meantime, what China can do is to keep boosting people with updated vaccines and stocking up on anti-viral drugs.
Right, that's the last time I'm seeing your trite. Ignored.

This time, I agree with the first part of your comment but disagree to the second part. While others don't care, China's zero-covid would be very tiring one. I always say: "at some place where everyone wears clothes, only you are nude, people say that you are crazy but at another place where everybody is nude and you are the only one who wears clothes, people will also say that you're crazy". However, that's not an excuse for China to give up its zero-covid policy. Then, what do you mean by "keep boosting"? 3rd jab then 4th and 5th jab, one after another? Basically, I think three jabs is enough and act as things come. It's really hard to predict what would come next.

My sincere advice to you: do not keep repeating about boosted vaccination. Everybody here will feel tired of you and some day mods will step in and guess what? You might be banned!

I know this has been asked a million times, but if that's the case then what is China's end game here?

The fact that China defacto banned Pfizer/Foshun for almost 2 years should give you a hint.... China is likely going to wait for it's own domestic indigenous mRNA tech to mature. Once you have indigenous mRNA, indigenous antivirals drugs, indigenous antibody cocktails, indigenous everything... China feels more confident to open since it's not dependent on foreign technology (like semiconductors).

Say if China was dependent on Pfizer/Foshun and US decided to block all vaccine technology and antiviral drugs IP to China in future because of political tensions... then that is literally genocide attempt. China cannot afford to be dependent on foreign drugs.

That sounds about right for the US

China already has the technology from Pfizer. If the US bans Pfizer's specific mRNA technology China can still produce the vaccine without license. Intellectual property is just a convenience for trade.
