There are estimation that 1.8 million Hong Kongers are infected in this wave and seeing the quantity of asyimptomatic cases in China i do not doubt it. This virus expand so fast that even having a much lower death rate than other variants it will found its way to vulnerable people.
Hong Kong government has started to recognize self-test kits that people can buy everywhere and then test themselves.

On Mar 15, during a press briefing in the afternoon, the National Health Commission revealed that most of the cases in the Jilin province so far have been mild and asymptomatic cases. By NHC's official Covid guidance (see #17400), mild cases do not show pneumonia in X-ray and CT.

"As of this morning, 8201 Covid patients have been admitted to hospitals in the province of Jilin. There are 2 critical (危重) and 2 severe (重型) cases in the municipal of Jilin. Changchun has 2 severe cases (重型). About 4% are regular cases (普通). The rest, more than 95% in other words, are mild (轻型) and asymptomatic cases."

吉林省截至今天上午在院病例8201例,其中吉林市危重型2例、重型2例,长春市重型2例,普通型占比大概是4%左右。也就是说95%以上的患者是无症状感染者和轻型病例。

Good news, yes? It means the vaccines are working.

-Covid funding in countries is running out.
- Countries removing restrictions from left to right.
-Many unvaccinated people.
-No one wears even a mask.

It seems that for the rest of the world Covid ceased to exist.

I'm predicting that the economic impact of long COVID will be greater than China's lockdowns.

Yes. The data will be more accurate in a few days. Unfortunately the NHC isn't good at publishing these info. We have to sieve the news to get pieces here and there.

But the vaccination rate is still below 90% overall. It's even lower among the young kids below 10 and seniors above 70. Regarding vaccination, the mainland is now kind of facing the similar challenges as HK.

Perhaps even the Chinese government had underestimated the vaccines.

It's also a myth why the central government insists on making vaccination completely voluntary. It has restated multiple times that local governments cannot force the residents to take jabs. I hope they change this odd position and start mandatory vaccination immediately.

Many cases in China are actually BA.2 sub-variant of Omicron which make it so much more contagious. BA.2 sub-variant of Omicron cases are also making a surge in EU and the US.

This is ridiculous, how much more infectious can each subsequent variant get?

Korea needs to follow Hong Kong's lead in implementing strict measures.
Do you have problem to acknowledge that Hong Kong is following mainland China's lead, so everyone including South Korea and Singapore (as you mentioned in another post) need to follow China's lead?

If you felt ashamed to acknowledge that China is the good example, don't say anything instead of stealing the credit.
