The lock down in shenzhen is an indication of what will happen to other Chinese cities. They should vaccinate people with boosters, rather than just testing like crazy.
You're absolutely insane with your observation as to which methodology between what the west does, lead by the American debacle compared to what China has been doing which is a very successful epidemic control based on real world results: Economic growth, less death per capita, less death overall, less infections per capita and overall.

Despite the overwhelming evidence, you keep on harping on the incessant need for China to use MRnA vaccines or use booster shots contrary to the science and real world results in countries that have employed what you have been vacuously advocating for ad nauseum.

Are some Asians these freaking westernized that no amount of evidence can convince people like you from preferring to believe the evidence in front of you because it's Chinese? And would rather keep on believing like religion the western method all the evidence to the contrary? This is some cult like shit.

That's nonsense. China has successfully eradicated covid for many times already. Testing is the only way to do it. Nobody is going to get boosted every 4-5 months. You would lucky if 20% to 30% of population are willing to be inoculated themselves every few months.

And the US is still dying over 1200 per days after boosted and after natural immunity. Covid is not a cold. No matter how you try to sugarcoat it. Even if using conservative estimate, the US covid deaths from covid this year would exceed 300,000. Even the worst flu season couldn't do such damage.
The US is just 75% fully vaccinated and 45% boosted. Most cases are now concentrated in those not vaccinated. All people should get boosted every couple of months, as anti-bodies will fade. Updated vaccines are needed for new variants.

When did I say covid is just a cold? covid is worse than a seasonal flu, which requires a flu vaccine every year.

It is easier to get vaccinated every couple of months, than to get tested every day, as in Shenzhen and Shanghai.

How do you convince people to get boosted every 4-5 months? You sound like a vaccine salesman. Beside, 4th dose is ineffective according to Israel.

Let me say it again. Only testing can eradicate covid. After 3rd dose, you need a new vaccine and treatment. Keep boosting with an ineffective vaccine has little benefit.

That is why you need an updated vaccine that target newer variants, There are always break through cases. In all cases, vaccines and boosters will help prevent serious cases. This has been proven scientifically.
Just testing will not eradicate covid, you also need vaccination and medication. Similarly, testing has not eradicated the seasonal flu for decades.

The speed of covid mutation is faster than the speed of vaccine development. So don't count on new vaccines boosters to provide too much benefits. As for preventing serious cases, the old vaccines can already do it. After 3rd dose, additional boosters don't provide additional benefits in preventing serious cases so your advocate of boosting every few months make no sense.

China has eradicated covid for the past two years. So testing can't eradicate covid is completely false. If other countries follow China leads, we probably wouldn't have covid right now.

The 3rd dose is still the original vaccine, that is why you need updated vaccines as boosters that target the newer variants.
For faster vaccines development, you need local mRNA vaccines.

If China could eradicate covid, then maybe they should try eradicating the seasonal flu as well. Remember that, most people in China already got 2 doses of vaccines. So it was testing together with vaccination that had kept cases to very low levels.

At the moment, there are no new vaccines that provide much of additional benefits against Omicron. Your Omicron mRNA is even slower than Chinese second generation vaccines in development and provide no additional benefits. The so called mRNA speed of development is just a myth. And their mRNA Omicron vaccines didn't do better against Omicron compare with the original mRNA vaccine. Didn't you read the news.

It is too late to eradicate flu but not too late to eradicate covid two years ago. I always advocate for vaccination and its benefits. In fact, I say China needs to get 95% of its population vaccinated and boosted. However, it is unrealistic to vaccine everyone every 4-5 months. You would be lucky that 60%-70% of population would be willing to be boosted annually let alone every 4-5 months.

No one has a doubt about the usefulness of vaccine in combating Coronavirus. The only problem is that it mitigates transmission but not completely cuts off transmission. China's dynamic zeroing policy, no matter how dynamic it is, still aims to elimiate local existence of coronavirus to elimiate the local transmission of coronavirus. You can only eliminate coronavirus by stamping out the means of transmission, which is separating infected people from the uninfected crowd by testing, isolation, and quarantine. So in China's current strategy, testing will always has a higher priority than vaccination. This is evident in the temporary haltings of local vaccination process whenever there are local cases.

"Just testing will not eradicate covid." This is false. China did eliminate local cases of covid. All the cases since the original Wuhan outbreak originated from backflow cases. Again, in the near foreseeable future, vaccine still can only help in eliminating Covid unless there exist some vaccine that completely prevents people from either contracting or transmitting the virus.

"Testing has not eradicated the seasonal flu for decades." There wasn't a consistent and persistent efforts to eradicate seasonal flu in the first place. Also, flu vaccine has not eradicated the seasonal flu for decades.

"It is easier to get vaccinated every couple of months, than to get tested every day, as in Shenzhen and Shanghai." No, you don't get tested everyday, not even in city in lockdown. I personally experienced city-wide lockdown, I was only tested twice before the lockdown was lifted and I was never tested ever again. So since the early stage of the pandemic, I was only tested twice (excluding testing in quarantine hotel) in the two years of pandemic. Also, as long as the zero covid policy exists, even if people are vaccinated and boosted up, they will still need to be tested. You are making false comparison.

"For faster vaccines development, you need local mRNA vaccines." There are local mRNA vaccines in development, so you can rest assured of the speed of vaccine development. China has all types of vaccines covered, no need to worry.

"If China could eradicate covid, then maybe they should try eradicating the seasonal flu as well." Yeah, maybe. But whether China try to eradicate seasonal flu or not has no relevance in China's Covid strategy.

"Remember that, most people in China already got 2 doses of vaccines. So it was testing together with vaccination that had kept cases to very low levels." Also remember, China managed to eradicate local cases of Covid way before the EUA of any vaccines. Vaccine sure is a significant contribution to efforts in combatting coronavirus, but the deciding factor in the success of eliminating local transmission of Coronavirus is still the good-old trio of testing, isolation, and quarantine.
