Taiwan been kinda below the radar since being lauded heavily by the Western media.

Kinda telling no Western media attacked their zero covid policy unlike the incessant bashing towards mainland China.

Also,
Taiwan has never gone into full lockdown during the pandemic and has never closed its borders, though arrivals have generally been limited to citizens and foreign residence permit holders.
That's essentially border closure. Same as Australia before and everyone called it border closure.

Huh ANZ, I worked for them for 4 years fresh out of University. Of the four big banks in Australia ANZ is no doubt the best positioned to make such statement, they have far more investment in Asian in general and in China in particular than the other three.

Interesting Bloomberg is publishing this. More sign of people reaching the acceptance stage?

Nah, even western MSM needs to print some truth from time to time else even their brainwashed sheeple audience might start to wake up.

Don't look too promising. Need a booster shot to have enough antibodies to neutralize Omicron.

Same for BNT-Pfizer and Moderna. All mRNA vaccines so far are really 3-shots vaccines.

Also the letter SCMP cited was mostly about the development of their Omicron-specific vaccine candidates. However it's not clear how successful they are as the letter provides no comparison data for their original vaccine candidate. It only mentions that "antibody titers induced by ARCoV-Omicrons were comparable to the original mRNA vaccine ARCoV", which is unclear whether it's comparable to original ARCoV's neutralizing antibody level against the wild-type or Omicron.

In any case, the 3-shots ARCoV result looks solid with as its neutralizing antibody level is only 40% less against Omicron vis-à-vis wild type. However, remember the result was based on an extremely unrealistic 300 day gap between the second and third shots.

In the early days WHO suggested that vaccines should have a minimum of 50% efficacy rate for them to be used for vaccination. Yet here in NZ and most probably other countries as well, Pfizer with an efficacy rate of below 30% for Omicron is given to folks who are getting vaccinated for the first time.

Just moving the goal post from preventing infections to preventing severe cases. Sadly, no vaccines right now are effective in preventing infection. WHO and all health agencies just play dumb to further encourage vaccinations so at least hoping hospitals wouldn't be overwhelmed if enough people took vaccines.

"Playing dumb" is exactly the word. Meanwhile, the media is stoking the fire by blaming continued infections on those "unvaccinated plebs" whole ignoring the well documented fact that the vaccinated are also infectious.

When you're drowning in the middle of an ocean, a floating leaf would give you hope.

I took Pfizer a few day ago as a booster (4th dose). All my hopes of taking this vaccine is that it would protect me from hospitalization rather than neutralize omicron in case of contracting.
