Funny, indeed.
AFAIK all MSM have told no, not a single, fact or tips on China's know-how about fighting COVID19 to western public.
How to keep all sorts of supply to high density residence area?
How to build an emergency hospital specifically for highly contagious disease?
How to pressure, lure, and persuade people to avoid possible infection and take test after encountering certain circumstance?
How to coordinate medical resources to prevent collapse of healthcare system?
How to protect and rotate medics in order to keep them healthy and vigorous?
......
No, none of anything above was covered. All those life-saving experiences remains unreported, even after COVID-19 started spreading across the world.

Let me guess the mindset behind.
I call it "Chinaman can't achive anything fair and square" syndrome.
Since everything Chinese people achieved is "fake" or "by a dirty way" or "on a cost any civilized(caucasian) human would never accept", China has nothing worth superior westerners to study from.
Oh, did I plus big bad the Party onto it?

Such a perfectly preset mind would lead one to these plain simple conclusions:
All Chinese achievements must be fake or "just-for-show-off-and-soon-to-collapse".
Every good thing the Party do must be a fraud or false propaganda, and every bad thing happened to China must because of deliberate malicious act from the Party.

Luckily, here the SDF remains some space for.sanity, fact and logic. I still can share something here since here is the only place I know I won't be hated for being a Chinese or accused as a commie troll for insisting truth.

1. Covid-19 is much more dangerous than flu. A normal flu doesn't have a 5+%(Wuhan on Jan.) mortality ratio.
2. It's not "only-old-dies". Chinese government repeatly warn people all age are vulnerble to COVID-19. Recently a 29 years old nurse was killed by this disease.
3. It can infect through EYES.
4. COVID-19 spread convertly. It is contagious during incubation period, which means symptomless infection. The longest incubation period recorded was 24 days.
5. COVID-19 is also veey decieving. Test-kit is not 100%accurate, fake negative is not a rare thing. One patient, after his infection confirmed by CT, took the RNA test for 8 different times during the treatment before having a positive reaction.
6. COVID-19 is very vicious against human society. Lethal epidemic, supply shortage, overloaded hospitals, put all these together social unrest would be inevitable. DON'T expect every patient could be hospitalized.
7. Better start getting your neighborhood organized. Assign runners and guards. Prepare possible quarentine zone for different levels: Confirmed, Suspect, Close Contact with Confirmed, Close Contact with Suspect.
Limited resourse.doesnt mean nothing you can do.

The strain in US seem to be different than the one in Italy, Iran or Wuhan....

Might this explain why Trump was downplaying this as just the flu and the strain might be a lot weaker. Even if CDC isnt doing a lot of testing, if people in America were dropping dead left and right like whats happening in Iran, I think someone would have noticed by now or it would have bee much more than just 15 confirmed cases...

Forget the MSM see they bad mouthing China, yet the first case of infected person in California have to wait days for the result because the test is administer from atlanta. Imagine if there widespread infection they will soon they will clogged up the testing while more people get infected. And how about hospital bed Did they have enough? Can they convert public place into temporary hospital like China did? I doubt it

I just watch this on streaming TV CGTN see you can overcome all kind of hardship if people work together and the backing of strong state to organize rescue Amazing nothing can beat the Chinese nation they will come out stronger after this virus epidemic. Hat off to the medic who is at the forefront of this life and death fight.

At 10 a.m. on January 23, Wuhan went into lockdown. This was done to stop a deadly virus from spreading further across the nation. It was one day before Chinese New Year's Eve, a major travel day for people planning to return home for the holidays. This documentary is dedicated to all those who've been battling tirelessly against the COVID-19 virus in order to keep the epidemic at bay. Their efforts in safeguarding humanity from the virus will always be remembered.

I've been quoting Caixin a lot in my posts but I've lost a lot of respect for them for sensationalist non-sense like these. There is a fine line between investigative journalism that gives us facts and sensationalist reporting that misleads. Full genome sequencing of a virus is not the same thing as identifying an outbreak, which is a epidemiological rather than biological concept. And no, you can't just look at the RNA of a virus and immediately tell how infectious it is. Seriously it is the time to require science journalists to have a PhD in the field they report on.

New data from China's COVID-19 epidemic reveals important clues about how the outbreak unfolded — and how it's slowing sooner than expected.

Bruce Aylward, a Canadian doctor and epidemiologist, led the World Health Organization's COVID-19 mission to China. This week, he showed reporters epidemic curves, or epicurves, of China's COVID-19 outbreak to illustrate how transmission chains — people spreading the infection to others — were interrupted.

An epicurve is a graph that shows the frequency of new cases over time based on new infections per day. In many cases, an epicurve follows a bell curve, steadily rising to a peak and then declining as the outbreak burns out when the virus runs out of susceptible people to infect.

To epidemiologists — scientists who study diseases within populations of people — the

like sick people out in the general public.
The data from China showed the rise was cut short.

"What you see is this is rising then it abruptly gets blunted," Aylward said. That's a picture that suggests some kind of measures were taken to mitigate the outbreak, which the team estimated peaked in China between Jan. 23 and Feb. 2.
