Is China going to make any of these Pfizer or Merck pills?

Last week Chinese CDMO provider Asymchem signed a 481 million USD supply agreement with an American big pharma. The deal is confidential, but industry sources say it's a supply agreement for Pfizer's Covid-19 pills. China might become the biggest maker of Pfizer's Covid pills even if it's never approved in China.

Let's hope for the best but plan for the worst. This is why am very impressed with the CPC's insistence that the country not open up like the rest of the world despite what the west would want it to do; which is to invite more infections and damage the country's economic gains and advantages over the West.

I agree, it's too early for China to re-open now like the West wants it to.

That being said, Chinese should get booster shots with 2nd-gen Chinese mRNA vaccines as a 1st step to the long journey of "Reopening with Chinese characteristics". West is rushing ahead without everyone getting boosters, and they hope China will fall into the same trap.

Sinopharm is objectively better than AstraZeneca based on this study. However, you will NEVER get this impression based on the majority of Western media.
Western media is piss-poor when it comes to journalistic integrity and objective reporting, despite proclaiming to be free, transparency, and objective journalistic press. That's why trust in media is at an all-time low in the United States. People can see through their bullshit from miles away. Just read any news that you are very knowledgeable in... you can see how they twist and stretch the small grain of truth to fit their narrative and agenda.

Why don't they approve the pills in China?

China never approved any new drugs unless some clinical trials are done in China. Beside, pills from Merck only cut 30% of death and hospitalization which is no better than many other drugs that are using to fight covid and much less useful than those antibodies that cut death by 70-80%.

I mean a few weeks ago Merck claim 50% reduction but now only 30% reduction. What a joke. No countries should waste money on such pills. Pfizer pills might be another scam unless further review and data prove otherwise.

so the only country that has understood covid is china. Articles against zero covid strategy are rubbish. I'm waiting a new lockdown for xmas and the cancellation of winter olympics
Maybe the new strain is less virulent but more contagious, and hard lockdowns can be avoided.

The Winter Olympics is a drag on the use of national resources and given the current geopolitical climate, can't possibly enhance Chinese national image on the international stage like the 2008 Olympics did. However what is done is done. China must steel through this like the Japanese have this year.
