Somehow my sympathy for these people has chosen to take a long term vacation. They had a chance to fix things but there political beliefs screwed things up and now they have no choice but to wing it, causing more and more problems for everyone else
Coronavirus 2019-2020 thread (no unsubstantiated rumours!)

LOL... All that hype for 3 months. I was anticipating what new drama could unfold. But alas, I've overestimated the US yet again.
My theory on what actually happened:
1) China is just too powerful to be fabricating 'cleaning powder' evidence against.
2) China is making huge noises about Fort Detrick and all the US military biolabs around the world. And this could be getting some serious attention. They may have nothing to do with Covid-19, but the US still doesn't want too much attention on them.
This is not the end of it that's for sure. I expect this Covid-19 blame game to continue indefinitely. Even after scientists have conclusively found the truth.

A major problem is people not coming out of their homes to be tested. Even after three weeks of being told they must be tested. Then they are found to have COVID and everyone in their building who have been doing the correct thing all get taken away for quarantine. Some very selfish people. This delays the reopening for everyone. Children to go back to school and people to go back to work.
Well the delta is going up around the world like crazy but their is very little in terms of questioning as to why India didn’t lockdown very well In Regards to the delta and allowing it to spread, especially when you compare the mud slinging that China received. Hence as long as the majority of the world refuses to see this irony, the. The western world deserves to suffer the consequences of their bigotry. It’s just a pity that the leadership didn’t get to bear the pain like the rest of the population
Science lost 3 valuable months, instead of searching caves, jungles and farms, all is wasted in political bullshit, the scientific collaboration between China and the U.S is in the ground and is not likely that will recover any time soon. That sad part is that in 10-15 years this pandemic is going to repeat itself again will another zoonotic virus, for some reason people forgot that in a period of just 20 years we had two worldwide Coronavirus outbreaks (SARS and MERS) and one pandemic (H1N1). This are not 100 year events like some people say. Globalization, farming, wildlife trade, tourism, habitat destruction and the increase in population density are making probalbility of this kind of event more likely.
@Nutrient This is why even if Chinese closes its borders forever and forever, there will always be mutations that thrive in the animal host resevoir. Sometimes, these variants can cause severe disease like SAR-CoV-1 and SAR-CoV-2 and make the jump to humans. If you don't worry about coronaviruses evolving and jumping to humans from dogs and pigs and bats and deers and cats and pangolins and civets, you will never be truly addressing the 'variant' issue.
