According to another statement from CNBG on Tuesday, the vaccines have demonstrated an overall death-protection rate of 84 percent in people aged 60 and above in Argentina, based on data for nearly 150,000 people.

@SteelBird WOW!!!! I think leadership says it all in our situation with a messy democracy and large scale income disparity, the masses followed gov't covid protocol. The poor are the one that really suffer, but with Duterte administration providing basic services and free vaccination, they know they are being look after. That is what governing is all about you empathize and care for your people.

Experts say Covid-19 doesn't discriminate sex, age, poor or wealthy. I'd say it does discriminate because Covid-19 tends to attack the poor more than the rich, the old more then the young. It's reasonable because the rich have less in population and more choices. The poor need to earn daily living and cannot keep social distance strictly. The young is stronger and healthier thus deal with the disease better. By the way, we are trying to find 3rd jabs for our staff to deal with Delta outbreak. Health ministry advice us to take the 3rd dose when we have taken 1st one for 6 to 8 months. The majority of us has just taken the 1st and 2nd doses for 4 months. Do you think we should accept the 3rd jab now? There are only 1.5 million doses of AZ (used for the 3rd jab) and there are 10 million people waiting for the jabs.
@SteelBird bro on your part at least a large percentage of your population is fully vaccinated on our part its only 12%, we are on lockdown here in the metropolis cause its the only way to prevent mass infection. We need more vaccine and we can't buy any due to worldwide shortage. What is harming us is the bureaucratic inertia, the regulatory capture that I always mention, Western Pharma dipping their hands in gov't policy, our DOH (Dept of Health) who should led the gov't effort had been sideline due to inaction that force Duterte to form a special task force to oversee our vaccination effort which anger a lot of vested interest group (these people value profit more than compassion).
