Regardless of your opinions on what actually happened in Wuhan, the fact of the matte is that the circumstances are sufficiently suspicious to convince most normal Westerners that the lab leak is what happened.
The odds of China allowing a full auditing of the WiV are zero, so this case will never be closed "officially", but that is not needed for most people.
The only question then is what will happen next. This incident will essentially finish off all of the China doves still inside the West. There is no reason for the West not to play hardball all the time.
Since soft diplomacy is out of the window, naked coercion is the best option for both China and the West. There will be a profound escalation of conflict over the next few years with violence being the only solution imo.
This makes Hu Xijin's call for a 1000 nuke arsenal understandable and logical. It is no surprise that the call came about just as the lab leak rhetoric exploded onto the scene again.
