Setting a bad precedent. If it were me, I would rather Hong Kong die and rebuild itself then cave in to these crony financiers. But then again the world is a complicated place and I suppose Hong Kong is still needed somewhat as a financial gateway to the world. Still though.

I would rather scientists and technical talent returning from the West be granted quarantine exemption than these financial leeches.

Btw has there been any research on the complications of throwing dead bodies into the river?

What if they get stuck somewhere and they gradually pollute the water or something. After all, there is a reason we bury or burn the bodies. Leaving thousands of bodies in the open doesn't sound healthy to me..

Dumping dead bodies in rivers is very normal in India. Its part of Hindu ritual . I would never drink a drop of water from Ganga (holiest river in Hinduism) even if someone paid me a Million bucks. You'll be drinking a mix of water, feces, urine, chemicals and human remains.

You are going to contaminate the drinking water for people downstream.

Potentially important study which can more efficiently utilize dosages of Sinovac.

Abstract

Several studies have shown that individuals with previous history of SARS-CoV-2 infection had boosted antibody response after single dose of mRNA or adenovirus-vectored vaccines. We wondered whether single dose CoronaVac, a whole-inactivated vaccine, could be considered for COVID-19 survivors in Indonesia. We measured IgG anti-RBD titre among 18 survivors and 37 non-survivors. Among survivors, there were 9 survivors with positive antibody titre (seropositive) before vaccination and 9 seronegative survivors. All respondents received two doses of CoronaVac vaccine at 14-days interval. We found no significant antibody titre difference between non-survivor at 14 or 28 days after second dose as well as seronegative survivor at at 14 days after second dose. Seropositive survivors were rapidly boosted after first dose with higher antibody titer than non-survivors and seronegative survivors after second dose. However, antibody titer did not differ between first and second dose among seropositive survivors. Seropositive COVID-19 survivors could receive single dose of CoronaVac vaccine which could potentially ease the vaccine supply constrain. A long-term follow-up must be conducted to observe difference in antibody response and persistence.

So basically saying, people who had survived or had a previous covid-19 infection has an amazing antibody result when infected with the first dose, but a second dose has a negligible response. Whereas, people that has no covid infection requires the second dose to have a strong antibody response.

To sum it up, those who have been previously infected with covid only need a single dose of the vaccine.

Given a choice between drinking a bottle of Fukushima radioactive water and Ganges fecal water, which would you choose?
We can add American leaded Flint water to that list too.

But your post gave me an idea what Japan should do with the Fukashima reactor water.

Pay India to dump it into the Ganges. If nothing else it'll disinfect the water, and if we're lucky the radioactivity may bring back the dead.
