Beijing has tried to portray itself as a responsible global citizen. It may fear loss of face if proven conclusively to be Covid’s source. In fact, China would gain respect if it did switch, belatedly, to transparency and co-operation.

No need to fear loss of "face". WHO or other investigators are never going to enter Wuhan again for the rest of their lives. Simples.

Standard Western operating procedures. If China was weak now, they would confiscate the money that it has held abroad (companies, stocks, bonds, loans, assets, bank accounts etc

Who knows, even now they might try to pull some shenanigans..

Still waiting for the Aussie to jump in - damn this time they're beaten by the Brits. Last time, ScoMo was the first to call for the investigation of the origin of COVID among Five-Eyes.

Meanwhile, getting other Five-Eyes up to speed ... A solidarity of Anglo world would be really great to lead the world.
