The US state department seems to be launching a full scale soft assault on China.
The Covid response failures in the west and India (threatening their QUAD containment plan) have significantly damaged the prestige and leadership position, so now they are launching a blatantly obvious case of "whataboutism"
Let's look at the facts
1. There is no real new evidence to support this lab leak theory. Fat pigpeo had already said he had "credible intelligence reports" that supported the lab leak theory. Suddenly 1 year later, this evidence is now super-credible because Biden?
2. Scientists are parroting the government line. If they didn't, where do they expect to get funding? China? Oh wait, if they actually did try that...
3. Biden recently announced the vaccine donation plan, but they are already so far behind in exported doses. Western countries have been heavily criticized for their hoarding, so the only solution is attack-attack-attack.
4. Boosters might be needed for all vaccines, not just Chinese ones, so this is not unusual (even article 3 makes this concession). This smells like a preemptive strike similar to the "brutal" (as described in article 2) lockdown. Once people are getting Pfizer and Moderna boosters, articles will celebrate the quick arrival of boosters. Also needs to be pointed out that UAE which is giving the third shot, feels confident enough in the vaccine to manufacture it locally. So whatever shortcomings it might have vs. the mRNA vaccines, they feel it can be mitigated by greater availability (which is an argument I have also made myself)
So its interesting to see that the truth is not fully fabricated. However, like a piece of plastic, it's been stretched so thin as to become transparent.
