The Chinese authorities had authorized the vaccination of people over 65 with Sinovac ??

There should be a proper disclaimer when posting a medical study from any countries. It should be noted that the study you linked here is coming from *one study* and is not being touted or used as the definitive study on the Sinovac vaccine with respect to it's purported ineffectiveness on people that are 80 years old. But this study must definitely be looked into and see if other countries medical testing comes up with similar results to ensure consistency in the results as well as the testing parameters of how the study in Brazil was conducted.

I hope you didn't come here just to post this chicken little concern and then make a sweeping generalization and proclamation about Chinese vaccines are subpar at best and ineffective at worst. On the bright side, none of the people around the world who's had any of the Chinese vaccines died from any blood cloth related issues or swelling of the heart as being suspected from Pfizer and Moderna vaccines which we should all hope not to be the case.

@Bellum_Romanum No worry bro, my client (72 yrs) had been inoculated with 2 doses of Sinovac since last march and last Saturday had come to my house hale and healthy to get his document. If his case is not good enough real world evidence, I don't know what is.

Your supposition is wrong. It is based on a misinterpretation and has only gained popular acceptance because most people don't read beyond headlines, and are perfectly okay with being lied to even when the consequences can lead to a hot war.

Please refer to this post by @siegecrossbow.

You once proclaimed to be a Chinese-American. I suggest you stop wasting time with spreading agitprop against your own interests. You're running out of time as is.

Think very carefully who is your enemy here. Who is doing the lying, who is stoking racial tensions, who is going to get your and your loved ones killed. Tick tock buddy, tick tock.
I don't think he is ABC most likely he is ex pat Indian masquerading as ABC He does not think or act like ABC but clearly think, act as Indian He got defensive when we post article that is critical about Indian response.
He always try to depreciate or dismissive on China achievement but extoll anything Indian even it is projection that never materialize or exaggerate Indian potential. But potential is nothing if it never realized. De Gaulle famously said of Brazil as "always the future country" the same apply to India "Always the future superpower"

No. You are either lying or did not translate correctly
Here is the relevant Google Translate.

Considering the 14 days after the second dose, the effectiveness was 61.8% between 70 and 74 years old, 48.9% in people aged between 75 and 79 years old, and with 80 years old or more the effectiveness dropped significantly to 28%.

So if you are 70 years old, Sinovac is still effective, but it reduces with old age.
At 80 years, people are about ready to die anyway because their immune systems are so weak.

A few weeks ago, a fully Pfizer vaccinated 81 year old died in India

You are very sensitive, but you also draw the wrong conclusions ... Let me clarify, my grandparents live in China and have not yet wanted to get vaccinated, I just wanted to know if any Chinese here or someone who lives in China has knowledge about which vaccines are being applied to them to those over 80 years old ....

For the rest, the publication that I brought, is not personal, it is that of the Butantan Institute of Brazil, which is one of those that is carrying out more tests and studies on the CoronaVac vaccine ....

what is your annoyance, You get your claws out in the first few changes, I am not questioning the Sinovac vaccine, I simply wanted to know if some knowledgeable person (obviously not his case) could clarify what vaccines are given in China to elderly people ... The last I heard , is that the vaccination was in the range of 17 and 59 years, but I am not updated
