Re: Computer Talk!!

Vista....one word for it....terrible...

After a few weeks of extreme dodginess (windows Explorer crashing, 3 blue screens, inability to install anything, inability to open anything)....I attempted to put an end to it, and reset my pc back to factory default. Well....I'm guess vista doesn't like that.....because it won't reinstall the factory default vista which ultimately makes it inable to run at all.....(sigh). Time to take it back to the manufacturer to get it fixed.

I give up microsoft....

Sorry to here that kliu0. Sounds like you got a "Lemon"..

I have Windows Vista Home Premium and it runs very smoothly on or offline..especially now that I switched to Firefox as my browser..Thanks crobato!:D

Honestly the only problem I had with it previously was pages freezing and that was an IE problem. But it sounds to me that you are beyond that problem.

I'm testing Google Chrome, which is Google's new browser and available now for downloading. It's quite fast, and reliable enough. It takes a minimalist attitude to browsing, and that makes it look quite elegant and different from all the other browsers like Firefox, Explorer and Safari. It is interesting to note that if you highlight a word, and open up a pop up context menu, Chrome lets you search for the word in Google directly. Also, Chrome lets you treat your bookmarks in a kind of faux home page.

Anybody has tried Windows 7? I installed and tried it. The problem I experience is when the PC go sleep, I can't wake it up again.

I've also been using Chrome ever since the beta came out - originally it was just an experience because I absolutely love Firefox (particularly its extensions), but Chrome was noticeably faster. Notably, Firefox takes up a crapload of memory. One of the possible downsides though is that tabs are each their own task, which takes up even more than Firefox if you get too many open.

I'm fairly certain that Chrome should support awesome extensions like Adblock much like Firefox does, but it needs some more time.

Finally, i download Google Chrome too. It has a new look (compared to IE and Firefox). Can't comment too much about its ability coz I just start using it today.
