We do have this from a little while ago but it's unclear if it remains the final specifications they're going with.

wow,

I didn't realize for some reason that ARJ-21 is 5 row. It can totally be stretched to compete with A220-300 then.

As for C929, that makes it slightly wider than B787. Which makes sense, since you are trying to sell the pitch of wider seats and such. 787 was originally designed by 8 in a row but all the airlines adopted 9 in a row.

The additional 10-15 cm allows for 18 inch wide seat.

It kinda makes sense given that it seems to be based on the MD's family double lobe fuselage which at some point were made in Shanghai, too.

Edit:

Interesting that the C929's cabin is wider than that of the A350. Seems to sit between the 777 and the A350.

it's actually the same as A350. which has 5.96m width and 5.61m for interior. You can technically try to squeeze 10-in-row in there. That would be really uncomfortable though. Only ULCC scumbag airlines do that.

The first prototypw likely will appear in 2027 or later.
After seeing a few posts after this one, im startimg to think they dont even have the pieces of the prototype yet... its only the drawings for the pieces.... i dont know how a whole C929 prototype ready for real world testing will arrive in 2027

who told you they don't have pieces ?? those information are old. the drawing of C929 like ''fuselage width and cabin width'' chart was from COMAC's old presentation..

fuselage , wings , tail , cockpit. the contract has already been awarded to the suppliers.

C929 mid-fuselage delivery countdown..

though nobody knows the exact date of first prototype. but 2028 could be that year.. if everything goes well.

Which piece of the 929 do you believe will be the most difficult/longest time/limiting part?

I mean, designing any new airliner is difficult and time consuming. You can always design a new airliner, but this thing needs to be 10% better in unit cost than 787-900. That's the expectation for all new aircraft. C919 is a special case, but the airlines will hold COMAC to a higher standard with C929.

Certification is typically considered the most difficult part. It was long and hard for C919. It will again be the case here.
