strange question.. i think we have post countless times..

its CJ-1000A.. this one will replace LEAP engine on C919 in future.

domestic engine will probably be use on domestic routes and act as backup in case the west block engine sale
for overseas route is less likely as airport needs to set up additional maintenance facility for different engine which add to cost

Nope. In the best case scenario it would take one year to finish the flight tests, and another year to start production. But when have you ever heard of quick development of a jet engine? Especially in China.

any harm in asking this question to acertain whether it's the A version? whether it's being produced en mass?

With Trump in power, US may ban leap engines export to China. This will definitely stop the production of C919.
