I am very surprised that the manufacturing process is manual labour... I would have thought they integrate higher levels of automation to reduce the pricepoint of parts & increase production efficiencies.

not feasible for low volume production like C919. When it gets to the level of 1000's of planes made, then we can talk.

Its like how stamping is the lowest cost per part, but it is very expensive to produce low volumes of stamped parts due to very high startup cost.

According to Chinese APP 航旅纵横, in early August there has been several flights which should be carried out by B-919C replaced by planes from airbus. On 13th, after all the passengers were aboard, the B919C occurred some problem which can not be fixed. The flight MU9190 delayed about 3h and finally replaced by a A320.
