Bandai Namco disqualified a Chinese player from a Tekken competition after he got into Top 8 because apparently China was under some kind of sanction, so Chinese players are not allowed to participate. Doesn't stop Namco from selling to the Chinese market though.
I'm going to boycott Bandai Namco products. I do like Formsoftware but fortunately there are plenty of good Chinese action RPGs on the horizon that I can waste time on.

If it is any consolation, Namco’s RPGs as of recent really suck beyond words. Also other then Elden Ring and possibly Tekken unless anyone enjoys playing the same thing over and over again, is there anything else worth playing from Bandai, I mean they seem to have fallen into the remakes routine and they mobile games simply isn’t worth mentioning, I would rather wait for Mecha break then any worthless attempt from them to make a decent gundam game which they had years to do but never managed
They better do it to avoid this from happening again.

It's making the rounds of gaming YouTube channels that China is behind Ubisoft pushing their Assassins Creed Shadows to have a black Samurai making the company tank so they can buy more shares so it can take over. This comes from insiders at Ubisoft, if it were true, which means a bunch Ubisoft employees are trying to cover their asses for making these decisions. Also making the gamer rounds like I said was going to happen is China behind DEI in the West. They're saying that even Black Myth Wukong's success was strategic by the Chinese to make Western games bad because of DEI and then come out with their own game that wasn't DEI so that it would get praise from American gamers for not being DEI.
I don't think MSS are creative enough to come up with such an insane plan. Don't get me wrong they are probably the top 1 intel agency in overall capability, but culturally speaking, it would be anathema for them to even think about doing something so weird.
They wouldn't think that selling DEI to US would work. Because nothing in their life experiences would tell them that. They would think US would reject DEI while laughing in their faces.
I mean just look at AC shadows. It would have been a hit if it just released as a normal bland game. Imagine trying to pitch to them, as an outsider, to nuke their own golden goose. For what?
Imho DEI is so dysfunctional because it's spawned from the failsons and faildaughters of US entertainment czars. It is inherently retarded because the people behind them are. And the people are retarded because there is no meritocracy to their positions, they just got it from a self perpetuating rentier class. It's like asking "why was the last Habsburg so deformed".
Recently, the head of Ubisoft came out and blamed the gamers for their low sales, saying gamers are too needy. Did China also make him say that? Lmao, the dude doubled down and said Ubisoft needed even more live service in his next sentence.
China doesn't need to do anything to be successful. Everyone else will ensure that, especially blackrock.
