Everyone knows China's very good at making softcore entertainment, some of China's recent domestic AVs are surprisingly good. Chinese people have decided to compete in producing Japanese style AVs now ;)

Another win for China's soft power imo. All China is missing is some big CPOP girl group.

Link US the AV for research purposes.

Is this the level and type of basic, dim-witted, unsophisticated, and unbelievable PR the best BYD and Jinjiang Group can come up with? What the fuck was Stella Li doing while this is happening? It was bad enough that BYD lost control of the narrative when this story broke out and resulted in other interest media/groups attacking BYD's image and now this stupid cringe PR?

BYD definitely needs a better PR group.

What do you propose instead of just attacking BYD?

Humanize the workers. Coach the workers and set up local medias to do interviews with ones that can actually do more than just reading out lines on a paper (with local Brazilian translators if possible). Have local medias touring these so-called slave condition areas and sincerely tell them the shortfalls and how these conditions will be improved. All at the same time giving hints and facts how these factory improve local and national Brazilian economy.

And NOT having workers sitting in front of a camera and a few reading of them reading out paper like forced hostages.

Agreed. This is a pretty shit job! Very amateurish.
Hope it won't impact byd too much. Like US Gov hit job.

Prior documentary about the USG attack on Chinese investment basically said that they let china put in as much money until it can't be recouped then use local media and push local grievances and have the project stalled or stopped costing china the largest amount of money.

I mean china and their companies should have procedure in place to push back against their narrative. They are constantly being blindsided.

Came out today, very long article, worth reading in detail, and tons of specific valuable information. Amazing results overall, knowing how little China invests in PR (because they invest in results in reality, not fiction, and those results speak of themselves after a certain point and can't be denied anywhere, for example, they build countries' real economies, not brainwash you with manipulative rhetoric), and how much the US invests in it (both to exaggerate themselves and also smear China everywhere in the world).

As changes unseen in a century accelerate across the world, China's impact is becoming increasingly comprehensive, profound, and long-lasting. The global attention on China has never been as wide, deep, and focused as it is today. How does the world view the changes in China? What are the global perspectives on China's development? How does the rest of the world perceive China's image? To find the answers to these questions, the Global Times launched a survey with 51,332 respondents in 46 countries. This is a global public survey with the largest scale, the largest sample size, and the most comprehensive and in-depth questionnaire design since the founding of the People's Republic of China.
